EFI shell command reference

Table 4-3 lists the commands supported by the EFI Shell Interface on the unit-based HP integrity server.

When npartition is active but the operating system has not been booted, you can access the EFI shell from the npartition console.

You can use the following command categories:

? "Pilot command-EFI shell"

? "Configuration command-EFI shell"

? "Device, driver, and handle command-EFI shell"

? "File System Command-EFI shell"

? "Memory command-EFI shell"

? "Shell navigation and other commands-EFI shell"

? "Shell script command (or programming structure)-EFI shell"

For more information about these commands, enter the HELP command at the EFI shell prompt.

Command description

Bootstrap command-EFI shell commands related to npartition Bootstrap.

Autoboot settings (View) Automatic boot timeout variable.

Bcfg displays (or modifies) the driver (or Bootstrap configuration ).

Set (or view) The boottest bit.

Dbprofile displays/modifies the direct boot configuration file to be used by lanboot.

Lanboot boot on the LAN.

Reconfigreset Reset System (npartition) for reconfiguration; npartition for non-active (disabled for reconfiguration ).

Reset System (npartition ).

Search connects the driver of the bootable device.

Configuration command-the EFI shell command is used to change and retrieve system (npartition) information.

Set (or view) The ACPI configuration mode.

Cellconfig unconfigures (or re-configures) cells (sets the use-on-next-boot Value of cells ).

Cpuconfig cancels (or re-configures) the processor and processor core.

Date displays the current date or the date of the system (npartition.

Dimmconfig unconfigures (or reconfigured) memory (dimm ).

Err display (or change) error level.

Errdump to view (or clear) logs.

FRU to view fru data.

Info displays hardware information.

Monarch sets (or views) the master processor.

Palproc calls pal.

Romdrivers enables or disables the PCI extended Rom driver.

Rootcell setting (or viewing) preferred root unit (set npartition core unit selection ).

Salproc calls Sal.

TFTP performs TFTP operations on UNIX boot servers that support Bootp/DHCP.

Time displays the current time or the system (npartition) time. Set and display the EFI time in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time.

Variable saves (or restores) Specific EFI variables.

Server displays the version information.

Device, driver, and handle commands-EFI shell is used to manage devices, drivers, and handles.

View the com settings of the serial port in baud.

Connect binds the driver to the device.

Hex dump of the dblk blkio device.

Devices displays the devices managed by the EFI Driver.

Devtree displays the Device Tree.

DH dump handle information.

Disconnect disconnects the driver from the device.

Drivers displays the driver list.

Drvcfg calls the driver configuration protocol.

Drvdiag calls the driver diagnostic protocol.

Guid dump a known guid ID.

Lanaddress: displays the MAC address.

Load the EFI Driver.

Map MAPS short names to device paths.

Openinfo displays the open protocol of the specified handle.

PCI displays the configuration space of the PCI device or PCI function.

Reconnect reconnects the driver and device.

Unload uninstall protocol image.

Attrib displays (or changes) the attributes of a file (or directory.

CD updates (or views) the current directory.

Comp compares the content of the two files.

CP copies one or more files (or directories) to another location.

Edit: edit an ascii or Unicode file in full screen mode.

Eficompress compresses infile and writes it to OUTFILE.

Efidecompress decompress infile and write it into OUTFILE.

Hexedit uses hex to edit files, Block devices, or memory areas.

Ls displays the list of files and subdirectories in the directory.

Mkdir creates one or more directories.

Mount a file system on a block device.

Rm deletes one or more files (or directories ).

Setsize: Set the file size.

Touch uses the current time to update the Time of the file (or directory.

Type display file content.

VOL Displays the volume information of the file system.

Memory command-the EFI shell command is used to list and manage memory, EFI variables, and NVRAM details.

Default: sets the default NVRAM value.

The I/O of the memory or memory ing is dump in step 1.

Dmpstore displays all EFI variables.

Memmap displays memory ing.

MM display (or modify) MEM/IO/PCI.

PDT view/clear npartition or cancel Allocation Table (PDT) on the unit Memory Page ).

Shell navigation and other commands-EFI shell is used for basic EFI shell navigation and custom commands.

Alias settings (or get) alias settings.

CLS uses the optional background color to clear the standard output.

Exit to exit the EFI shell environment.

Getmtc displays the current counter value that increases or decreases monotonically.

Help or? Show Help.

Mode displays the mode of the output device on the console.

Set to set (or obtain) environment variables.

Xchar enables or disables extended characters.

Shell script command (or programming structure)-EFI shell script command.

Echo returns the message to stdout or switches the script echo.

Else scripts only: If then is used.

Endfor only scripts: The separator of the for loop structure.

Endif only supports scripts: If then structure separator.

For only scripts: loop structure.

Goto scripts only: Jump to the tag location in the script.

If only Script: If then structure.

Input to get user input and put it in the EFI variable.

Pause scripts only: prompts to exit or continue.

Stall stops the processor in several microseconds.
