I believe that friends who use the Asus P5K-SE know that SATA In the BIOS selection has only one ide option. Although ich9 supports ahci, Asus removes this option in BIOS for various reasons. After a long period of research (Google took a long time), I finally found a way to enable the ahci and raid options in Sata by replacing the BIOS.
The specific method is as follows:
Brush the BIOS of Asus p5kr to the P5K-SE.
1. Download afudos 2.11 first (do not download the new version because it will verify the BIOS Rom ID)
Ftp://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/flash/
2. Download the BIOS of p5kr (the latest version is 0703)
Ftp://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5KR/
3. Find a boot disk with pure DoS (such as a CD, it seems that many d xp installation disks will carry)
After entering dos, execute the command: (do not perform power-off when you execute this step, that is, this step will pose a risk !)
Afudos/n/ip5kr0703. Rom
After restart, you can see that Sata has the ahci option in BIOS.
How to convert the system to ahci ~ There are many articles on the Internet, so we will not go into details here.
Finally:
After enabling ahci ~ I feel that the read and write speed of the machine is up, and the hard disk sound is also low (haha, most of them are psychological)
I used a board for almost two years and don't want to change it to I5 ~ So he tapped into his potential.

Supplement:
I recently found that I cannot start the IDE interface (because the BIOS does not recognize that the IDE is started ). However, considering that sata hd and USB flash drives are used to start and install the system. Therefore, it has little impact on the author. If you are still using an IDE optical drive to install the system, it is recommended that you do not brush this bios!
