Ssh, short for Secure Shell, is a security protocol built on the application layer and transport layer. SSH is currently relatively reliable, designedRemote logon sessionAnd other network services to provide security protocols. The SSH protocol can effectively prevent information leakage during Remote Management. SSH can compensate for Network Vulnerabilities when used correctly. The SSH client is applicable to multiple platforms. Almost all UNIX platforms can run ssh.
SSH is divided into client openssh-client and openssh-server.
Install
If you only want to log on to another machine for SSH, you only need to install OpenSSH-client (Ubuntu has a default installation, if not, sudo apt-Get install OpenSSH-client ), to enable the SSH service on the local machine, install OpenSSH-server.
sudo apt-get install openssh-server
Verify
Then confirm whether the sshserver is started:
ps -e |grep ssh
If you see sshd, it indicates that the ssh-server has been started.
If not, you can start it like this.
sudo /etc/init.d/ssh start
Configuration
The SSH-server configuration file is located in/etc/ssh/sshd_config. Here, you can define the SSH service port. The default port is 22. You can define other port numbers, such as 222.
Then restart the SSH service:
sudo /etc/init.d/ssh stopsudo /etc/init.d/ssh start
Login
Then use the following method to log on to SSH
ssh [email protected]192.168.1.112
Note: Username is the user on the host 192.168.1.112. You need to enter the password.
Disconnected
exit
Enable the SSH service in Ubuntu
