Tip Updating a style refers to a word 2010 document in which a user modifies the formatting of a text that has a style applied to it, prompts the user to update the style based on the most recent changes, or reapply the style's formatting. As shown in Figure 2011122901.

Users can enable or cancel the "prompt to update style" feature as needed, as described in the following steps:
Step 1th, open the Word 2010 document window, click the file → options command, and so on, as shown in Figure 2011122902.

Step 2nd, open the Word Options dialog box and switch to the Advanced tab. In the Edit Options area, select or cancel the prompt to update the style check box, and click OK, as shown in Figure 2011122903.
