Endeca Virtual Machine Environment Configuration summary
Oracle Endeca is responsible for providing a complete endeca environment in VirtualBox , approximately 36GB. Now apply down the 128GB memory server, to install VirtualBox on the server and run the virtual machine in a fully Endeca environment. Two main problems are faced. One is restricted and locally uploaded to the special plane's network bandwidth (400kb/s),36gb virtual image upload to the server problem. the second is the installation of VirtualBox after the server Mount virtual image, unable to configure the network through the graphical interface problems.
for the problem one, prepare a compressed sub-package method, a 4g, a total of 9 files. Two accounts are uploaded to the transit server at the same time to shorten the upload times. During the period, the software FlashFXP that supports the continuation of the breakpoint can be encountered .
for issue two, considering that both the transit server and the target server are not able to operate through the interface, only now the VirtualBox in Windows is configured to bridge network mode, set the IP address and so on. And then split the upload.

after running the virtual machine, enter the system and give the system a fixed IP address (and 128G Server IP in the same network segment)

After you complete the above modifications, shut down the virtual machine gracefully. will be modified after all the virtual machine files, including *.vmdk,*.vbox,*.vbox-prev,logs folder, by 7z software subcontracting compression to package in tar format, then upload to a staging server using FlashFXP software

the staging server is copied to the target server via the SCP command SCP **.tar.001 [email protected], enter the password, wait for the upload to complete
Merge the subcontracting files on the destination server, unzip with the tar command
Cat **.tar.001 **.tar.002 >> Endeca.tar
TAR–XVF Endeca.tar
installation VirtualBox, process slightly. (The current target server is already installed)
Execution Vboxmanage command configuration, one way is to directly mount the virtual machine configured under Windows, another way is to create a virtual machine, mount the uploaded virtual image, two ways to configure the command poor.
Vboxmanage registervm/data/virtualbox\vms/eid_linux98/eid_linux_98.vbox Add virtual machine, need to put *.vbox,*. Vbox-prev,logs put it in /home/endeca/.config/virtualbox/.
