First, we will introduce several concepts used in endnotes.
Library: the endnote file used to store reference data is actually a database
Reference: References

Style: style, that is, the format of the reference document at the end of the article, different magazines
Filter: the filtering method used to import (import) endnotes from references retrieved (such as pubmed. Because the data formats output by each search engine are different, it is important to select a filter based on the search engine when importing data.

1. Start: Download endnote. After normal installation, start the program and we can see its main interface (nonsense)

Ii. Database Operations: Since we have not created our own database, let's take a look at the example file that comes with endnote. 4. Click the preview switch button to switch the display of the preview window.
III. Basic document operations
1. Open and edit: double-click the left mouse button on a document or press enter to open the document and display its details. You can modify the document content on this screen. When you close the file, your modifications will be automatically saved.
2. Modify the items contained in a document of a type: reference types --> modify reference types. You can modify the project included in a document and the name of the project displayed in the field bar.
3. Edit --> preferences --> display fields. You can select the items shown in the field bar (see figure)
4. Simply add a document: Reference --> new reference. You can add various projects of the new document and select the document type. The author or professional word endnote that has been input before will remember and prompt, which saves time :)
5. Add an image or object (use this method to manage the full text): In the document editing screen, move the cursor to the image field and select references --> insert picture to insert the image, you can also enter a brief description in the caption field. If you select insert object as the insert object, you can insert a file. Common examples include PDF, Doc, xls, and PPT. (See figure)
6. Search for documents: Select references> Search references. The search page is displayed. You can select search fields, search conditions, and content. You can also use boolean logic to connect two search conditions, such as, or, or none. Click search to view the results.
Some friends said that the endnote search function is not strong, and there are only two search conditions. It is not as good as RM. In fact, this is because you have not yet understood endnote. The add field, insert field, and delete field buttons in the search window can easily increase or decrease the number of search conditions. I don't know what the upper limit is, it's okay if I add it to 25 (that is, it's too tired to delete it ). However, some friends say that the Boolean logic function of endnote is weak. As I do not have such requirements, I do not know much about it.
7. Change the document display format: in fact, it is the current style mentioned in the preview window 2 and 3. It is very convenient to switch from the drop-down display bar on the toolbar.

1. Use endnote in Word

Position the cursor where you want to insert the document. Select find citations and a simple search window will appear. You can enter related words in the document database to query the documents you want. Click search to start searching. After the search result is displayed, the detailed document content is displayed in the following window. 3. Use format bibliography to convert strings into references in the standard format.
The methods 1 and 2 we mentioned above can be used repeatedly when writing a thesis. In short, the convenience prevails. Finally, our article is full of strange strings. At this time, you can insert the document. Select the format bibliography command in the endnote menu bar. Pay attention to the following issues. After adjusting these items, click OK. The endnote will automatically search for strings in the text, insert tags at the insertion point based on the selected magazine format, and insert references at the end of the paper. 2. Search for online databases through endnote
This section describes how to use endnote to directly retrieve online databases, such

3. display, select, and save the document: click yes in the preceding Confirmation window and then you will be directed to window 3. This is the download window. 3. Import the retrieval result to endnote
Endnote search is good, but sometimes the endnote connection is poor, or we are used to using IE, or we do not have an endnote on the retrieved machine. We need to take the retrieval result back to our machine and import it, what should we do at this time?
