Enterprise Private Cloud Adjustment has 4 considerations

According to Gartner, nearly half of large enterprises now rely on private cloud configurations. Many IT departments manage these systems "if not broken, not repaired" methods, but they should regularly check to make sure that they continue to meet users. When examining an existing enterprise private cloud, IT departments should consider a small number of issues. This article lists 4 Considerations for Enterprise Private Cloud tuning: resource consumption, additional expansion, security checks, and closed solutions.

Track resource consumption. Prior to the advent of cloud computing, system upgrades were a very easy plan to implement. The lifecycle is long, usually three years, and changes occur infrequently, and resource requirements can be predicted. However, the product lifecycle is now short and changing, and ultimately it resource requirements have dramatically changed. Typically, business units consume 1TB of data center resources, and such dynamics are even more prevalent in private clouds. Once users are aware of how to easily allocate resources, their expectations and needs increase. For example, if a new large data application is brought online, the IT department will see the resource utilization rate increase from 10% to 25% within a or two months.

Check for additional expansion. The Enterprise Management Alliance found that most enterprises started to use private cloud to develop native projects without any other priority implementations. However, the cost savings and flexibility offered by these systems give it an opportunity to move old systems to more modern platforms and perform better than traditional systems. As a result, it must be concerned that other applications should also be able to benefit from migrating to a private cloud, and may even consider delegating a private cloud in some cases.

Perform security checks. Most applications now work in some form with sensitive data, so businesses must monitor security closely. Hacker incidents occur frequently, and recently a national level of malware has emerged. This software is more powerful than ever, so businesses must ensure that their private cloud is able to fight these complex factors.

Give up the status quo. More and more IT systems are turning to a solution that is more software and less hardware. Private cloud also makes the enterprise move in this direction because it automates many traditional, artificial data center functions. All along, IT staff have been interested in proprietary solutions, and businesses need to move away from closed, proprietary solutions and into a more open standard system.
