In a workbook file, sometimes you don't want people to see the formula we're using. For example, for a company's financial reports, we do not want others to see the profit calculation formula or the company's employees do not want to know the cost of accounting formulas. At this point, you can hide the formula to achieve the purpose of secrecy.
A formula that hides cells that don't appear in the formula bar when this cell is selected. The steps to hide the formula are as follows:
(1) Select the range of cells that you want to hide the formula from, choose Cells from the Format menu, and select the Protection tab, as shown in Figure 7-17.
(2) Select the selected box marked "hidden", press the "OK" button, and go to the "Protect Sheet" command in the Protection command on the Tools menu, as shown in Figure 7-18.
(3) The Password dialog box for Figure 7-19 appears on the screen.
