Expression web usage Problems
1. In expression web, how can I preview ASP. NET master page or common page during design to view the effect after applying theme?
No theme preview function is found in Visual Studio 2008 or expression web SP1. It is preliminarily inferred that the theme function of ASP. Net is a running behavior and can only be displayed after being processed by the server, especially the skin feature for the server-side controls. The rough way to solve the preview problem is to import the CSS file defined in theme to the ASP. NET page to view the effect after applying the static style. The CSS file can be introduced in the parent board page to avoid repeated CSS import for multiple ASP. NET pages.
2. How to enable a browser in expression web to preview ASP. NET pages?
If you do not have IIS, you must install ASP. NET development server. When I first installed expression web, I did not check whether to install this plug-in. Because Visual Studio 2005 was installed at that time, which means that ASP. NET development server already exists. However, in the menu item/site/Site settings-preview of express web, I can see the following:
That is, the software reminds me that ASP. NET development server is not installed. So I am adding and deleting Program Modify expression web installation, and select ASP. NET development server. The results of the two repeated attempts are the same!
In desperation, I changed the work und, that is, using the settings in to preview ASP. NET pages. For more information, see:
1. Find webdev.webserver.exe (ASP. NET development server) in the vsinstallation directory );
2. create a desktop shortcut, point to the program, and define the parameters required by the program in the shortcut address (for example, c: \ windows \ Microsoft. net \ framework \ v2.0.50727 \ webdev. webserver. EXE/port: 2189/path: "D: \ mycurrentwebproject"/vpath :"/");
3. Double-click the created shortcut and use the settings in combination to preview the ASP. NET page in expression web.
(P.s. vs2008 SP1 beta and expression Web 2 trial versions can be downloaded. The latter provides expression web development server. I wonder if ASP. NET development server is the same stuff)

Use expression web (or dw) to implement the design in a separate HTML page, and place all CSS on this page. Test as early as possible, complete a part of the test, and then start the next part. In case of layout problems, check the padding and margin of the element and the elements surrounding it.
In vs, create theme and corresponding skin for the web project or website, create a dashboard page, and set theme in Web. config.
Modify the style of some spaces in skin, such as the gridview
