In the morning, I want to test a virtual XP system in VMware Workstation. When I click power on the virtual machine, the following dialog box is displayed:
This reminds me of the last Hard Disk Cleanup, deleting some very large files, removing this virtual machine from Windows XP. other vmdk files except vmdk are deleted. The digital vmdk file is the snapshot file of the Virtual Machine. At that time, the snapshot file is no longer needed if the snapshot is disabled. Now it is too difficult to reinstall the virtual XP system. To solve this problem quickly, go to the directory of another normal Virtual System and check the file list of the virtual system, it is found that the vmsd file is used to manage snapshots.
Clear all content in this file, save, delete the virtual system with errors in favorites, and disable
Use the VMware Workstation activation function to open the vmx configuration file of the virtual system.
The error is the same, but the "snapshot" text under the status, location, and version is no longer displayed.
Now that all snapshots have been cleared, an error should be reported in the vmx configuration file to open the vmx configuration file.
Change ide0: 0. fileName. Behavior: ide0: 0. fileName = "Windows XP. vmdk"
Save, enable Windows XP. vmx again with the enable function, and then power on the VM. OK, go to the System
