What does Wireless AP mean?
Many people in our lives are using wireless networks, while Wireless AP is common in wireless networks. Many people still have many questions about Wireless AP, for example, what Wireless AP means is a common problem in wireless networks.
An AccessPoint is a wireless access point. It is a wireless switch used in a wireless network and is also the core of a wireless network. Wireless AP is an access point for mobile computer users to access the wired network. It is mainly used in broadband homes, within the building and within the campus. The typical distance is several dozen to hundreds of meters. Currently, the main technology is 802.11 series. Most wireless APS also have the Access Point client mode (APclient), which can be connected to other APs wirelessly to extend the network coverage.
Simple Wireless AP
It is a wireless switch that provides the function of transmitting and receiving wireless signals. The principle of simple Wireless AP is to transmit network signals through twisted pair wires. After compilation of AP products, the electrical signals are converted into radio signals to form wireless network coverage.
According to different power, it can achieve network coverage in different degrees and ranges. Generally, the maximum coverage distance of a Wireless AP can reach 500 meters. Of course, the longer the coverage distance, the higher the transmit power, but the higher the corresponding radiation, I would like to remind you that you cannot choose a product from a single aspect.
Most simple wireless APS do not provide routing functions. server functions, including DNS, DHCP, and Firewall, must be completed through independent routes or computers. Currently, most wireless APS support multi-user (30-computers) access, data encryption, and multi-rate transmission. in the home and office rooms, a Wireless AP can achieve wireless access to all computers.
Simple Wireless AP can also be used to control and manage computers with wireless NICs. Simple Wireless AP can be directly connected to the ADSLMODEM or CABLEMODEM (CM) with built-in routing functions through the 10BASE-T (WAN) port, you can also connect to a wired network through a vswitch/hub or a Broadband Router.
The Wireless AP is similar to the wireless router. According to the protocol standard, the coverage of IEEE802.11b And IEEE802.11g is 100 meters indoors and 300 meters outdoors. This value is only a theoretical value. In practical application, various obstacles are encountered. The glass, wood board, and gypsum wall have the least impact on wireless signals, the concrete walls and iron have the largest shielding effect on wireless signals. Therefore, the actual use range is: 30 meters indoors and 100 meters outdoors (no obstacle ).
Therefore, as an important part of the wireless network, the Wireless Access Point and the wireless gateway are also the Wireless AP (AccessPoint). Its role is actually similar to the hub in our commonly used wired network.
Many companies require a large number of APs for large-scale coverage. all APs are connected over Ethernet and connected to independent Wireless LAN firewalls.
Wall-mounted Wireless AP
The wall-mounted Wireless AP is also called a wall-mounted AP. It is a type of Wireless AP with a small size. It is specially designed as a 86-size wire box for the general international standard installed on the wall, it can perfectly replace the wired network panel in the room to achieve wireless coverage in areas that are inconvenient for large-scale construction, such as hotels, dormitories, homes, and office spaces. Because the wall-mounted AP is small in size, it can be flexibly deployed, POE power supply, centralized AC control, and so on, not only can achieve better signal coverage in the room, but also can centrally manage hundreds of wall-mounted AP devices. The AC controller enables batch modification of wall-mounted AP encryption, channel, advertisement push, notification delivery, device fault SMS alarms, firmware upgrades, and other functions.
The domestic market for such products is on the rise. Major foreign products include Motorola and Ruckus, which are powerful. They integrate AP, VOIP, telephone, and other functions, and a sound centralized management system. The disadvantage is that the cost is high, many features are not well applied in China.
Ceiling Wireless AP
Ceiling AP is a type of Wireless AP. It has a wide range of applications and can be directly installed on the ceiling to create a beautiful and elegant environment for enterprises, hotels, and malls.
Applicable to enterprise conference rooms, coffee shops, hotel lobby and leisure areas, mall leisure areas, etc., can be added at any time as needed. Centralized management is adopted and the AC controller is used for centralized management. In the IDC center, each device on the network node can be remotely accessed and controlled, so that the network administrator can clearly view the network running status, easy to control.
High scalability. with a wide range of wireless coverage, users can expand applications such as wireless monitoring, WIFI, and wireless alarm systems to meet the needs of the infrastructure of wireless digital hotels.
