Currently, many windows browsers based on Microsoft Internet Explorer kernel are popular on the Internet: netcaptor, multiwebbrowser, I want to go online (51357), myie, gosurf, Fantasia, netmyth, etc, in addition to the same basic functions, they all have their own characteristics, and it is difficult to do everything at a time. However, I found an interesting problem, that is, all the above browsers have the so-called "shortcut group" function without exception:
Multi-Window browser name shortcut group location shortcut group file suffix
1 netcaptor "shortcut group" menu. CGP
2. The multiwebbrowser "shortcut" menu has no suffix.
3. I want to go online (51357) "bookmarks" toolbar. ini
4. myie shortcut menu and shortcut menu. CGP
5. The "group" menu of gosurf is unknown.
6 Fantasia shortcut menu. fwe
7. netmyth shortcut menu. NRP
Almost each of them maintains a set of "shortcut groups": the file format is not much different, but the suffix is different. For example, multiwebbrowser adds support for the netcaptor shortcut group while processing its own shortcut group; myie is directly the same as the netcaptor shortcut group; I want to go online (51357) more powerful, the "shortcut group" is implemented on the toolbar, which is called the "bookmarks" column. Each group has a menu. If you feel that your "Link" column is not enough, you can also try the "bookmarks" column, and the menu in the "bookmarks" column can also be dragged to adjust the order, the same as the windows favorites menu.
It is undeniable that "quick group" is convenient for some users, but those users just don't like their brains, what's ridiculous is that our programmers not only don't use their brains to start a "quick group", but also give up on netcaptor!
The initiator is netcaptor, a "classic" Multi-Window browser from a foreigner.
One day, Mr. netcaptor found that his favorites were messy and he was too lazy to organize them. So he thought about it. Most users should be as lazy as I do, why don't I create a "shortcut group" to help netcaptor users manage their favorites?
This is a wonderful idea! Just do it: use the file extension name, and use CGP. -- captor group -- good. Who calls our browser netcaptor? Then, of course, we have created a group. Well, I often go to the "software" shortcut group to download software from huajun, computer home, and software house. I have to check the news every day, the "news" shortcut group is naturally not Sina, and Netease And Sohu are none of them (how is it like a favorite directory? Take care of it !)...... Select another file name and save it: software. CGP, news. CGP ...... To watch the news, open news. CGP. Wow, Sina, Netease, and Sohu. It's so convenient ......
This is certainly the case next: many of our comrades think that foreigners think really well and really think about it for users. You don't have to think about it. Just take a snapshot. You can use it. CGP. XGP, the file format is similar to yours anyway. You are doing a little better than me, and users are a little more than me. I also support you: solemnly promise, put. copy the CGP file to my "groups" directory. 100% ensure compatible ......
Well, of course it's not good yet. After all, Internet Explorer is an ancestor of browsers. Even though we have a "shortcut group", can't we always find it in favorites? Why can't I lose the "Link" toolbar? The interface is based on Internet Explorer.
Well, "favorites" is available, and the "Link" column is ready. The folders and links in the "Link" directory can be viewed in the "Link" column. Just click it, click the icon that is the folder button. The menu will pop up to show some links. It seems something worse, right! If the user's "Link" column contains a "software" directory, he wants to open all the links (what is huajun. URL, home computer. URL, software house. URL ......) What should we do? We do multi-window browsers. No problem. Can I add "open all links" to each directory?
Well, it's really convenient. I like to put the "software", "news", and "Sports" directories in the "Link" directory. What should I do? Open the "news" menu and click "open all links". Wow, Sina, Netease, and Sohu are all open at once. This is really convenient. You can also see which news websites are in it, I only want to see Sina today? No problem. Just click it ...... Isn't it a "shortcut group? It seems more convenient than "quick group", isn't it?
......
User: Why do I need a "quick group?
Browsers: Are there many similar functions? Although there are some duplicates, they are no better than the original ones, are there always better than none?
User :......

The following is a conversation between a reporter and Mr. netcaptor:
Reporter: Mr. netcaptor, you have developed many netcaptor users!
Netcaptor: we fully considered everyone's needs and made a lot of market research.
Reporter: I 'd like to ask you a question. I am also a user of netcaptor and found that "quick group" is really useful. Although I always forget some websites in each group, I open a few useless websites every time and then turn them off ......
Netcaptor: (face changing) Who told you not to organize your "quick group "?
Reporter: you have heard of me. You also know that Internet Explorer is becoming more and more powerful. Sometimes, if I want to set a website to be browsed offline, I still have to go to favorites to find it. Fortunately, Windows Search is very powerful and will soon be available, open. URL attributes, and then set offline browsing ......
Netcaptor: (impatient) Is there a problem?
Reporter: Of course, a friend of mine said that his favorites are always messy ......
Netcaptor: (PROUD) use our "quick group.
Reporter: he often uses other people's machines to import and export favorites many times. Could you write a program to convert. CGP files and favorites?
Netcaptor: (capture head) This ...... You can consider it.
Reporter: Also, favorites can be nested with multi-level sub-directories. Does netcaptor's "quick group" support the tree structure?
Netcaptor: (GU Xiangyu )......
Reporter: Don't worry, it's not over yet. I recently found that the icons of the. URL file in my favorites will change, and the icons of different websites will be different. Those who are website writers really want to come out! Are you sure you want ......
Netcaptor!
REPORTER: We? Me and who? "Shortcut group "?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speaking of this, some friends may already have the same feeling. The "shortcut group" is totally redundant:
1. The Group favorites directory is already a natural group. Imagine if you are too lazy to organize your favorites, will you still sort out your "quick group"? What's more, organizing "quick group" is no easier than organizing favorites.
2. Open all links. For programmers, add a "open all links" menu item to the menu of each favorites directory and manage a bunch of. XGP files. What is the complexity?
3. Browsing favorites offline is inherent. Each link is a file, and its attributes can be set, or the context menu of The Link (contextmenu) is displayed ), select "Make available offline. What about "shortcut group? Sorry, you still need to go to the favorites folder and find your. URL file to open the link property settings.
4. Structure rationality the favorites folder itself is a directory and can be nested at multiple levels: the "news" directory can be set up, such as "domestic" and "foreign, the creation process is just as simple as resource manager operations. Tree Structure classification is clear, and maintenance is also completed by the operating system. In general, the "shortcut group" is only a two-dimensional structure and requires additional programming. If you want to implement multi-level nesting in one. XGP file, I am afraid most programmers will be discouraged.
5. ease of operation is also selected from the menu. favorites can check the links under the "news" Directory (Group) at any time. For "quick group", You need to select "manage quick group ", then open "News. CGP ", then ...... I only want to see Sina today? OK, just open it. What about "shortcut group? Open the "news" group and turn off other pages to achieve the same effect (who said, I can also open it from favorites ??! -- Yes !).
6. Internet Explorer in the "Link" column has long considered that it is not convenient to choose from the favorites menu, so there is a "Link" column. You only need to create several directories in it, for multi-window browsers, simply add "open all links" when the menu pops up. It's a natural "shortcut group! As a matter of fact, the programmers can use their brains to understand that the "Link" column must be a "Link" directory? Is it a "favorites" directory? Even better, why can't users choose to use that directory? Is it technically difficult to implement it? No! Fantasia is tough. With "quick group" and "Link", it is not enough. Next, "add to Favorites, there is a "Link" menu in the "add to Favorites" column, which is repeated and repeated again. It seems that the call for doing so is still high. 51357 considerate (?), I think it is a bit repetitive. I just don't need the "Link" column. I define a "bookmarks" column and use my own "shortcut group". Do not "open all links" in the favorites menu ", it is the least repeated, but it is a pity that there is no need to put good things, and it takes a lot of time to make a difference.
There seems to be enough. The following is a solution that saves resources, provides simple code, and is convenient and convenient:
The most basic one is: Add "open all links" when each menu is displayed in the favorites folder, and "shortcut group" appears.
Better: Let the user select the directory as the "Link" column.
Even better: Tell your users to spend two minutes organizing their favorites to make your multi-window browsers more convenient.
In other words, if a user is too lazy to sort out his favorites, he will not be able to use it even if he makes a "black super security group, moreover, organizing the "shortcut group" is no easier than organizing favorites.
3300 words, not nonsense.
