App Store servers are distributed all over the world! If we can connect to a location close to us during connection, we can greatly speed up the download process, such as Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea!
If you accidentally connect to the server in the United States, you can think about how fast this speed can be!
Next we will teach you how to select a fast-paced server and modify the hosts file for your purpose!
1. mac users search for "network utility" in spotlight, and then select the third option "ping". The Apple Server is a1.phobos.apple.com to a2000.phobos.apple.com. Then you can try it one by one, only send 5-10 ping requests to check the latency. If the latency is short, the latency may be several dozen milliseconds. If the latency is over 100 milliseconds, the latency is slow.
For Windows users, click Start-attachment-command prompt. Enter Ping 173.223.52.163 and press Enter.
2. After confirming the server, we can see that there is an IP address of this server in the ping output box. We need this IP address, the IP address of 219.
These IP addresses should be relatively fast in China (173.223.53163 219.76.10.14 202.175.5.104)
3. Modify the hosts file
The Mac hosts file is in the/private/etc/hosts path.
The Windows Hosts file is in C:/Windows/system32/Drivers/etc.
It is not feasible to directly find the file on the Mac, but you can copy a hosts file to the desktop, then modify the hosts file on the desktop, and then drag it in to overwrite it, at this time, you also need to enter the login password for verification!
Another method is to directly use the command. On the spotlinght Search terminal, open the terminal and enter the following command and press Enter.
[Plain]View
Plaincopy
- Sudo/applications/textedit. APP/contents/MACOs/textedit/etc/hosts
Enter the login password and press enter to open the hosts file.
Add the same configuration in the file, from a1.phobos.apple.com to a2000.phobos.apple.com! The front IP address is the IP address with the minimum latency after the test, followed by the a1-a2000 (copy and paste well)
After configuration, exit! Then try the download speed of iTunes! -_-
