In a large, modern enterprise, information is distributed across different data storage systems (such as IBM Content Manager, FileNet P8, EMC Documentum, etc.), and different repositories have unique implementations that give enterprise consolidation, Searching for these data poses great difficulties. IBM Content Integrator (ICI) provides a federated query service based on enterprise content management, with the help of which enables enterprises to develop enterprise applications based on decentralized data faster and to quickly search and consolidate data.
Requirements for cross-Library queries and solutions based on ICI
In large enterprises, there may be multiple data repositories due to business requirements. Structured content repositories such as IBM DB2 and Informix, MS SQL Server, Oracle, and so on, based on storage content, are products such as IBM content Manager, FileNet, Microsoft Shar Epoint, emc Documentum, and so on. As you can see from Figure 1, more than 82% companies have more than one repository.

of the global business community, about 80% are unstructured data, and 20% are structural. Most of the unstructured data cannot be manipulated across multiple repositories. Mr. Lee Roberts, general manager of IBM Content Manager, said in an interview that 90% of FileNet customers were also IBM customers. As you can see, many customers are using FileNet products while using IBM products, while IBM Content Manager and FileNet products are not currently fully integrated. IBM content Integration Product IBM Content Integrator (ICI) has the ability to integrate IBM Content Manager products and FileNet content offerings, allowing users to implement various operations of the repository through a unified Java API such as access , create, update, and so on, ICI can search and reuse content from multiple repositories, as shown in Figure 2. ICI provides two connectors (Connector) for each of the IBM content Mananger and FileNet P8 content Manager, and the client program completes the operation via the ICI-provided API.
