How to install MPlayer in Fedora Core
Before Mplayer-gui installation in Fedora Core and you'll have to add RPM Fusion repositories. After that, Yum'll resolve all dependencies and MPlayer'll be installed in a minute.

and small issue before the end. Instead of playing AVI, MPlayer gave me the following message:
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-VO) device
The solution is to change output video device into Mplayer-gui to XV, GL, ... (Depends on your video hardware but at General, XV should work): View plain Mplayer-gui-> Preferences ; xv
Mplayer-gui-> Preferences-> video-> XV
