2, installation time by default installation can be.
3, first of all to the server global parameter settings: Click "Edit" menu, select "Settings"
General Settings:
Listen on port: Listening ports, in fact, is the FTP server connection port.
Max.number of users: the maximum number of concurrent client connections allowed.
Number of Threads: processing thread. That is, the CPU priority level. The greater the number of values, the higher the priority, the general default can be.
The following are time-out settings, from top to bottom: Connection timeout, transfer idle timeout, login timeout. The unit is seconds.
The Welcome Message page sets the Welcome information that is displayed after a successful client login. It is recommended not to use software defaults, because any software can not guarantee that there is no loophole, if the name of the software exposed here, once the FTP server software has any security vulnerabilities, people with ulterior motives know the name of the server Software may be targeted to launch attacks. Therefore, it is recommended that the information set here should not contain any server data.
IP filter (IP filters) page, set IP filtering rules, the IP in the above column is prohibited, the following is allowed.
Passive mode settings (passive transfer mode setting): This page should focus on. If the server itself directly owns the public network IP, you can choose the default "defaults" software.
If the server is in the LAN, behind a gateway, then choose the second "use the follwoing IP", and in the following input column to fill in the public network IP address; otherwise, the client may not be able to connect to the FTP server with PASV passive mode. Because the server is in the intranet, when the client uses the PASV mode to connect the server, the server receives the connection request to tell the client its own IP address, because the server in the network, It detects the IP address is intranet (such as 192.168.0.5), it put this IP address to the client, the client naturally unable to connect. After setting the specified IP address here, the server will submit the legitimate IP address of this public network to the client, so that the connection can be established properly.
If the server is dynamic IP, then you can choose the following "Retrieve external IP address from", using the FileZilla official website provided free of charge IP query page to get the public network legitimate IP, The server then submits the public network legal IP address to the client. Of course static IP can also use this, but not necessary.
This setup page is very important for the server in the intranet. Some FTP server side does not have this setup project, the client can only use port active mode to connect. Of course, some client software for this problem has specific settings, such as FLASHFXP site Settings, as long as the "passive mode using site IP" can be.
For servers in a local area network, if the server is not in the DMZ, it is strongly recommended that you define the PASV port range by selecting the Use custom port range below. Because of the PASV mode, the server randomly opens the port, and then the open port number is told to the client to allow the client to connect to the open ports. However, because the server is behind the gateway, if the gateway does not have the corresponding port mapping, the client cannot connect to the server open port from the extranet, causing the PASV mode connection to fail. This defines the port range that the server opens, and then to the gateway that connects to the extranet, port mapping (virtual service) to these ports on the server. This requires the server and Internet gateway device to be set up so that the extranet client can connect in PASV mode.
Security settings: The two options here are related to the ability to FXP. The software default state "block incoming Server-to-server transfers" and "blocks outgoing server-to-server transfers" are both selected, preceded by a blocked server pair , followed by a ban on outgoing server-side passes. This means that the default state does not allow FXP, and if you need to use FXP, then deselect the two items. Note that the FXP transmission is related to the IP filter in addition to the setting of this page.
Admin Interface setting (Administrator interface Settings): This is the login configuration server interface some of the parameters. The setting of the port number also appears during installation. The following two columns define the network interface and IP addresses that allow remote logins to be configured. Change the administrator password at the bottom.
Logging (log): Sets whether logging is enabled and the log file size and file name.
Speed Limits (Speed limit): This is a global parameter, the default state is not limited to speed. You can select "Constant Speed Limit of" and fill in the speed limit by filling in the limit value, download (outgoing) and upload (incoming) can be set separately. can also be customized according to the time limit rule-"use Speed Limit rules", such as this server or network connection in addition to doing FTP server There are other uses, need to schedule, can not allow FTP transmission crowding out all network bandwidth affect other network services ; You can set it here.
Filetransfer compression (File transfer compression settings): MODE Z FTP protocol is a real-time compressed transport protocol. In this mode, the sender's data before the issue of the compression, and then sent to the network link transmission, the receiver will receive real-time data unpack, in the local restoration of the original file. This model can greatly reduce the data flow in the network, improve the transmission efficiency (speed). Of course, for the files that have been compressed, there is little effect. To use this transport mode, both the server side and the client support the mode Z protocol.
Check "Enable mode Z support" to enable the mode Z support of this server, so that the client can also support mode Z to gain the performance gains it brings. "Minimum allowed compression level" and "Maximum allowed compression level" Set the minimum compression rate and the maximum compression rate respectively. At the bottom, you can enter a destination IP that does not enable mode Z functionality.
After you complete these settings, click the "OK" button to save the settings and exit the Server Global Settings page to return to the main interface.
The following is a user group settings setting. Click on the Fifth button on the main screen or enter by the "Edit"-"Groups" menu.
Group settings are designed to facilitate user classification management, users of the same permissions to the same group, so you do not have to repeatedly set each user's permissions and other parameters, simplifying configuration and management work. Click the "ADD" button on the right to create a new group.
When group creation is complete, point "Shared folders" enters the directory permissions settings page. Click the "Add" button in the middle area to add a table of contents. The first directory that is added by default is the home directory that is visible to users of the group after they log on, with a bold "H" identity in front of the home directory. To the right of the directory list is the Operation permission setting for the directory, which is the file permission setting, and the following is the directory permissions setting. If you want to change the home directory, just select the one in the list that you want to set as the primary directory, and then click the Set as Home dir button.
Set the home directory, and then click the "Add" button to set the rest of the directory in order to be OK. However, it should be noted here that if you just add another directory, then you can connect with the client and you will find that the directory is not visible except for the home directory and its subdirectories. What's going on? Here is a concept--a virtual path. The so-called virtual path is the directory structure that is seen on the client. Because a user can only have one home directory, other directories will not be visible to the client if it is not mapped to a virtual directory. So it is only possible to see a subdirectory of the home directory other than the home directory, so that it can be seen on the client.
For example, the home directory is D:\Downloads, if not the virtual path settings, then the client login can only see the contents of the main directory, there is a E:\FTPRoot directory of things below see. How do I set a virtual path? Right-click on the list of "E:\FTPRoot" directory, in the pop-up menu select "Edit Aliases" edit alias; now to the E:\FTPRoot directory as the client's home directory FTPRoot directory, then in the pop-up window inside the "D:\ Downloads\ftproot "and click" OK "button to determine. Note the spelling rule that the previous part of the path must be the absolute path to the home directory. After this setting, you can see a "ftproot" directory on the client, which is actually the E:\FTPRoot directory.
The "Speed Limits" and "IP filter" in group settings are the same as the speed limits and IP filter settings in the global settings, please refer to the previous section. But this is only effective for users of this group. The global setting is in effect for all users.
After setting up, click the "OK" button to return to the main screen.
The last one is to set up users. Click on the Fourth button on the main screen or enter by the "Edit"-"Users" menu.
Click the "ADD" button on the right to create the user and enter the user password in the "Password" field. Then select the group that the user belongs to from the group Membership column, so that the user inherits all the properties/permissions for the group and does not have to set the parameters separately by one by one. This is also the convenience of setting up a group, in the user more time use group to classify will make the management work more convenient and efficient. When you are finished, click OK to save the settings and return to the main interface.
Of course, you can also set up a user who does not belong to any group, so that you have to customize the user's permissions individually. For a small number of special users, it can be set in this way.
At this point, the basic setup of FileZilla server is complete and can be run, but because we use the most recent version, there is a small problem to be solved, that is the problem of Chinese garbled, Because 0.9.14 version after the use of the character set is UTF8, the use of 0.9.14 and the previous version is no Chinese garbled problem, convenient very simple.
Download a patch called FILEZILLAPV by FileZilla:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=171626
Select patched FileZilla server to stop the FileZilla Server service and replace the extracted FileZilla Server.exe with the FileZilla in the installation directory Server.exe file, and then start the FileZilla Server service, the Chinese garbled problem solved.
This FileZilla server is installed.
The cloud-dwelling community has provided a version of the integrated Chinese garbled patch
