Fixed "Event Log File damaged"

As one of the management tools included in the Microsoft console, Event Viewer is used Program, Security features, and log information generated by system events for maintenance. You can use the Event Viewer to browse and manage Event Logs, collect information related to software and hardware faults, or monitor Windows security events.

If Event Viewer reports damage to one or more log files during system startup, you can take the following remedial measures:

1. Disable Event Log Service: Open "Control Panel-performance and maintenance-management tools-Services" (or directly run services. MSC) and double-click "Event Log" to disable the service.
2. restart Windows XP.
3. Delete the damaged log files-appevent. EVT, secevent. EVT, and/or sysevent. EVT from the % SystemRoot % \ system32 \ config directory (or elsewhere. All your existing event data will be lost, but the new log files will be created and re-collected when the event log service restarts.
4. Restart the Event Log service and start it.
5. If the Event Log service fails to be started, restart Windows XP.

When the Event Log service is running, you cannot delete or rename the log file.
