Using software: 3DS MAX5.O
Introduction to the method of making ideas: for guitar making, we first have to choose the production tools, here we intend to use 3DS max5 software for production, next to determine the method used in the production, through the guitar to observe, our idea is in the 3DS Max software not using a modeling method to make, Because there are many limitations to using only one modeling method, the main modeling methods used in this tutorial are NURBS tools in 3DS max5, editable poly tools, editable mesh tools, lofting modeling tools, and so on, we begin our guitar modeling.
1, open the 3DS max5 software, click the Shape button in the toolbar, select the NURBS curves item in the Drop-down list below, then press the CV curve button to draw the contour line of the guitar body part in the front view, as shown in Figure Jt1.

2, activate the top view, and then press the SHIFT key on the keyboard and use the mouse to drag the curve we draw along the y-axis in a top view to copy a new curve, as shown in Figure Jt2.

3, select one of the curves, and then click the Modify button into the Modify command panel, click the Modify command panel on the Attach button, and then click another curve, so that we will combine the two curves into a whole. Then select the Create blend surface command in the NURBs Toolbox, and then click Two curves, so that a fused surface is established between the two curves, as shown in Figure jt3, if the surface is not visible after fusion, the normals may be reversed. We can reverse the normal by clicking the Flip button on the Repair command panel.

4. Click the Create CAP Surface tool in the NURBS Toolbox and click on two curves respectively so that we have two cover surfaces, as shown in Figure jt4, and we can tick the flip option if the normal is reversed.

5, we observe the main part of the guitar, the general shape has come out, but the corners are too blunt, the corner of the part should be smooth transition, we have to the corner part of the processing, click the NURBS Toolbox Create fillet surface tool, in the view of the first click on the guitar side, Then click on the front, and then check the trim surface under the trim first surface and trim second surface on the change command panel so that we have a transition surface between the two surfaces, The size of the transition surface may be adjusted by adjusting the size of the start radius value on the Change command panel. Also in another corner of the same operation, to create a transition surface, so that the main part of the guitar shape is completed. As shown in Figure Ft5.
