There are many types of commands that can replicate in 3DsMAX, from simple Copy commands to complex window parameter settings. In order to facilitate the study of the time when the clear thinking, I according to their own experience in the 3DsMAX in the replication is divided into six kinds:

There are three types of replication available in 3DsMAX: Copy (copy), instance (associated replication), reference (reference replication).
The copy command is a common form of replication, such as copying a object and appearing a replica B object, so B objects are exactly the same as object A, and there is no connection between the two after the copy is completed.
The Association Copy command enables the connection between the original object and the duplicated object. For example, a object associated with a copy of B objects, two will affect each other, these effects mainly occur at the level of the sub object, if the point level of a object to modify, then B objects will be modified accordingly, This association replication is often used in the production of left and right symmetry models, such as the production of organisms.
Reference replication commands are similar to associated replication, but the impact of reference replication is one-way, for example, a object reference to copy the B object, then the sub-level of a object will affect the B object, but the modification of B objects will not affect a object, that is, only a can affect B, this type of replication has its own characteristics, We can add a change to the B Object command, then to adjust the sub level of B, it is necessary to return to the B object level, is obviously very troublesome, in fact, we just modify the sub-level of a object can be, B objects will be corresponding changes.
