3Ds Max Polygon Modeling example: Teacup model

Earlier we introduced the 3Ds Max 7 in the polygon modeling in the more commonly used commands, in order to make the impression, let us use the actual application, make a small porcelain teacup, although the example is very simple, but you can use it to warm up first.

The picture below shows the effect of the teacup model we are going to make.

Start 3Ds max, select the Line tool and click to create the section curve shown in Figure 27 (note: Do not drag when creating lines, as we rotate to get the basic geometry, and if you drag and drop, the resulting curve will have too many subdivisions after it has been rotated and formed). In the key place we should add a few more points, such as cup mouth and the bottom of the cup, so that it can be broken down to look very smooth, the application of lathe Modify the command, set the parameters as shown in Figure 28, so that the basic form of the cup (as shown in Figure 29). Collapse the basic form into an editable polygon.
