The Apache Software Foundation announces that Apache SYSTEMML is graduating from the incubator and is officially the Apache Top Project (TLP).
Apache SYSTEMML is a machine learning platform that optimizes large data and provides the best place to work with machine learning with large data. It runs on the Apache Spark, automatically scales the data and determines whether the code should run on the driver or Apache Spark cluster line-by-row.
Using the Apache SYSTEMML, data scientists can use advanced language concepts to implement algorithms without understanding distributed programming. Based on data characteristics such as data size/shape and data sparsity (dense/sparse), as well as cluster characteristics such as cluster size and memory configuration, the SYSTEMML optimization compiler automatically generates a hybrid Run-time execution plan, which consists of a single node and Apache Spark or Apache Distributed operations for the Hadoop cluster for optimal performance.
In addition, project follow-up plans include further in-depth learning of GPU features, such as the introduction and running of neural networks.
