What is soap?
Soap is an application.ProgramXML-based communication tools and specifications. initially developed by Microsoft and userland, soap has evolved several versions. The current version soap1.1 is developing rapidly. the W3C XML Protocol Working Group is striving to develop it into a real development standard. draft soap1.2 has been released, which can clarify the obfuscation-prone areas of the 1.1 Edition specifications.
What is Axis?
Axis is a SOAP engine, but not just an engine. It also:
1) is a simple independent server
2) is a service that can be inserted into a Servlet Engine (such as Tomcat ).
3) scalable support for WSDL
4) ability to generate java files/classes based on WSDL
5) include some example programs
6) includes a tool that can monitor TCP/IP packets.
Axis originated from IBM's soap4j and is the third-generation product of Apache SOAP. Compared with earlier versions, it has the following features:
1) fast. It uses the event-based sax parsing mechanism.
2) flexible, users can flexibly customize extensions.
3) stable, the interface will change very little.
4) Component-based development.
5) support for wsdl1.1
