For both anti-virus engineers and reverse-analysis enthusiasts, the compendium is a must-learn, and it can be said that compilation is the root of all reverse studies. Whether using ollydbg or Ida Pro, or some other disassembly tool, when we perform reverse analysis, we can only view the assembly code of the target program, and analyze its assembly code to speculate on the program's operating mechanism. So from this point of view, to study the reverse, you must be proficient in the assembly.

I believe that, in many people who have not learned the assembly, the compilation is not something "tall", but it is also very mysterious, it seems very advanced. So before you learn, you are deterred. I thought so at first, after all, I majored in marketing, and before I was a compilation, I had only two levels of the C language. But after I finished this book, I changed the assembly greatly. Because this book is very straightforward to explain the seemingly esoteric assembly, it is easy for readers to get into the world of assembly by following the exercises that follow each chapter. The problem after the book is difficult to have easy, many exercises are very worthy of thinking, I believe that every serious study of the contents of the book, and seriously make the book after the exercise of the reader, will harvest quite abundant.

Admittedly, many of the content in the book is outdated, such as some programs that can only be implemented in low-level operating systems. And the book is basically based on a 16-bit system, apparently a bit out of tune with the 64-bit system now in common. Because of the existence of these problems, so many people to this book negative attitude, it can understand, after all, radish cabbage each their own, a book can not cater to everyone's appetite. So, I just want to talk about what we want to accomplish after we finish this book as a reader.

First of all, I'm a software developer, and I'm not sure about the extent to which engineers working on hardware need to master the assembly. I agree that many people say that the assembly is useless and should now learn a high-level programming language. I also said at the beginning of this article that the current learning assembly is just to be able to read the disassembly code in reverse work, or to write shellcode in the exploit technology, or some experts like to embed the assembly code in their own program, to improve the efficiency of the program ...
