Cisco router password configuration and cleanup

Lab tasks:
1. Configure the password in Cisco mode routing
2. How to reset the password after forgetting the password

Experimental steps:
1. Give Router a password:
Router >enable
#config T
Router (config) #line vty 0 4//Incoming Remote management interface
#password//123 Configure password 123

Exit

          #enable password 456                //全局模式下配置特权安全密码456                        #service  password-encryption    //加密所设置的密码

Verify the configuration: #end
#show Running-config//View the configured password in privileged mode
#write//Save Configuration
#Reload//Restart router Verify the password you have configured

.2. Crack Router Password:
Press Ctrl+break to enter Romm mode immediately after power-on
Romm >confreg 0x2142//change configuration memory value to 0x2412 (formerly 0X2102)
Romm >reset//reboot directly into router do not find and load the boot configuration file
Router>enable
#copy startup-config running-config//Copy the boot configuration file to memory
#show Running-config//View the original password configuration
#bir Nvrom//View Startup profile Name
#erase nvrom//Delete boot profile (Note: command on real machine) "* * or change forgotten password directly"
#configuration Terminal//Enter global mode
#config-register 0x2102//Change the configuration memory value to 0x2102 "to reload the boot configuration file"

    #werite                                      保存**     【退到特权模式保存配置】    #reload                                     重启

3. Remote Authentication: Enter the command in the PC management side cmd mode:
Telnet + (IP address)
Password: Input 123

Enable
password:456

Enter privileged mode to complete Remote authentication

Reset Password Configuration verification: #reload Restart
Configuration of authentication settings after reboot: route>enable
Password: Enter the password you have reconfigured

Enter privileged mode to complete password reset verification
