Cloud Computing Course Day 1

Today, I started my 10-day cloud computing course. Note:

1. Business Model and hierarchy

The more blank the area is, the more likely it is to start a business.

From Content-> infrastructure, the more you move down, the higher the threshold, the less likely it is to be imitated and surpassed, but the lower the profit.

 

2. Content, platform, and network (infrastructure)

① Content

Website, social game, SNS, etc.

Features: (1) market turnover high

(2) Money Easy come, easy go

(3) low thresholds and high competition

(4) disputes with end users

② Platform

Including Samsung and Google (Google engine and go LANGUAGE)

It is easy to generate lawsuit with peers.

③ Infrastructure

Such as Cisco

At the bottom of the cloud, it is difficult to enter the field, stable and few competitors, but market turnover low

 

3. ICT business plan

① Defining your business segment in TCP/IP model (whether it is in the content layer, platform layer or infrastructure layer)

② Know your enemy, the compiter

③ Realizing the market size and its behavior

④ Shows up strength/weakness of your business

⑤ Defining milestone of your business (when is the product launch, what is the five-year plan, and what is the Ten-Year Plan)

⑥ Forecasting sales value and its portfolio (predicted sales value and its portfolio)

7. Structuring balance sheet/profit-and-loss statement (profit and loss statement)-> (This point is an area of interest to investors)

 

4. Open Source Software's strategy

Step 1: offering free software, then creat community via open source software, then creat early adapter users

Step 2: supply Andy "certificated" service for certain amount of customer in community

Step 3: by means of open source software, creating "virtual" community for the firms's R & D activity

 

Summary:

In the first lesson, the teacher gave an example of the change between walking, private cars, and taxis. I think it is similar to the development model of computer. From Manual data processing to computing resources relying on personal computers, to sharing computing resources. It is the transformation from traditional data processing to today's cloud computing.

In the last section, we talked about open-source software and the source of its existence and development. Open-source software is maintained by many users, so it has good stability. When the complexity of open-source software reaches a certain level, it can obtain benefits from its derivatives. Its derivatives include security, update, technical support, and certification. I used to be curious about the profit method of open-source software. Now I know it.

In addition, it is better to hand over the technical translation to people with technical backgrounds. The first section teaches in English, but it seems that many people do not adapt to the Japanese English accent. From the second section, they begin to teach in Japanese, and then translate them into Chinese asynchronously. However, due to the lack of technical background, many words are missing in translation. The loss is not worth the candle. It is better to teach in English. In fact, it takes a while to adapt to the accent. However, the translation teacher is very careful. Thank you.
