Database Insert data Returns the current primary key ID value method

Source: Internet
Author: User

Environment: SQL Anywhere 9.0.2

To create a statement:

CREATE TABLE Test
(
ID int primary key identity (.),
Name varchar (20)
)

When we insert a piece of data, we often want to get the current inserted primary key value back to do it right away. We usually do this in the following ways:

1. Select max (ID) +1 First, then insert the value after +1 as the primary key into the database;

2. Use the Auto_increment attribute of a particular database to obtain the primary key value using SELECT MAX (ID) after the insertion of the data is complete;

But the simplest way to get this ID is to select @ @indentity after the query.

SQL code:

insert  into table_name  (...)  values (...)   select @ @IDENTITY  as id;
