Sybase Replication Server Application Plan VI
Replication servers support the replication of data between Sybase and non-Sybase databases, such as the Sybase replication agent, to obtain update transactions on the DB2 database on the IBM host and replicate to ASE's replication server for decision support systems. This scheme is used for one-way replication of non Sybase database to Sybase database.
The schematic diagram is as follows:
The program needs to configure system software: ASE, Rep, SQL Remote.
The advantage of this scheme is high performance (without increasing the burden of as data access, unique data access and message transfer mechanism; Sends update transactions rather than data itself to ensure data integrity, high availability of data (automatic resynchronization after failure, allow dump and load to keep database initial synchronization, etc.).
The scheme needs to be aware of differences in data types between different databases.
