In the enterprise network, one of the important tasks of the webmaster is how to manage the IP address inside the LAN effectively. Computer can be statically assigned IP address and DHCP server dynamic allocation of IP address two ways to manage the LAN IP address, in the LAN machine and IP address is not frequent changes in the case, our webmaster friends will use the static allocation of IP addresses, The advantage of this is that you can have a uniform distribution of the user's IP address, which makes it easy to record the user's IP address information. Today, we take the Windows 2003 operating system as an example to introduce the DHCP server Advanced configuration technology, for the network administrator friend reasonable and effective management of IP addresses to provide help.
1. Backup and restore DHCP server configuration information
In the network management work, backup some necessary configuration information is an important work, in order to be able to restore the correct configuration information in time when the network fails, to ensure the normal operation of the network. When configuring a DHCP server, the Windows 2003 server operating system also provides us with the ability to back up and restore DHCP server configurations.
Step One: Open the DHCP console, in the console window, expand the DHCP option, select the DHCP server that is already established, right-click the server name, and choose Backup. (Figure 1)

Step two: This will pop up an option that requires the user to select a backup path. By default, the DHCP server configuration information is placed in the "Windows\system32\dhcp\backup" Directory of the system installation disk. If necessary, we can manually change the location of the backup. Click OK to complete the backup of the DHCP server configuration file. (Figure 2)

Step three: When a configuration failure occurs, we need to restore the DHCP server configuration information, right click on the DHCP server name, select the "Restore" option, there will also be an option to determine the restore location, select the folder we use for backup click "OK" button, there will be a "Shutdown and restart service dialog box, the DHCP server automatically reverts to the original backup configuration when you select OK. (Figure 3)
