Skin Management
In DotNetNuke, skin can be used in a variety of levels. The generic selection control is used to represent the skin that can be used in different areas of the site user interface. Each site can use its own skin as well as the host skin. The skin can be configured with the child skin's hierarchical mechanism to cover the parent skin. For example, the use of channel-level skin always replaces portal-level skin.
Host level
Host-level skin is applied to all sites of the host. They can be set by the Superuser in the host configuration. The user can configure the skin or container of the foreground site and the background management interface.
Site level
Site-level skin is used for special sites that can be set by the site administrator in the site settings. The user can configure the skin or container of the foreground site and the background management interface.
Channel level
Channel-level skin is applied to special channels in the site, and they can be set by the site administrator in the column settings. The user can configure the channel's skin or container.
Column level
Column-level skin is actually a container for the module, which is used in special sections of the channel. They must be configured by the skin designer to create skins and not be managed in the site's user interface. You can only cover the level of the skin through the modular level of skin.
module level
Module-level skin is also called a container and is used in special modules (such as content modules in a channel). They can be set by the site administrator in the Edit module settings in the Module Action menu.
Skin Preview DotNetNuke has a skin preview feature that allows managers to preview thumbnails before using the skin. The skin designer must create a screenshot of the skin in JPEG format and package it in the skin package so that the thumbnail can be displayed.
