Today Reinhard when you deploy SSRS reports in VS, you receive the following error:

The deployment was canceled because of an error. On the report server, verify that the-SQL Server Reporting Services service is running.

Next, Reinhard enters Microsoft Dynamics AX to check that the system's report server configuration is correct. Do not know how to configure the classmate can view Reinhard before the blog Dynamics AX R2 Configure the report server. The check found that the configuration in the report server is also correct. Reinhard clicked the Verify Settings button and received the following error:

Unable to connect to report server Http://MSDynAX/Reports in Msdynax. Ensure that SQL Server Reporting Services is correctly configured to match the report server configuration in the Microsoft Dynamics AX client.

Depending on the error prompt, Reinhard enters the report server and checks to see if the SSRS service is started. The check found that Reporting Services did not start. Once the Reinhard is started, click the Verify Settings button again and you receive the following error:

The folder Dynamicsax is not found on the report server for URL Http://MSDynAX/ReportServer.

Reinhard, there is a good chance that the Reporting Services extension for AX is not installed on the report server. To the server to check the next, sure enough not installed. Next, Reinhard starts installing the extension.

Click Next, go to prerequisite verification, verify that after you pass the next step, Reinhard again receive the following error:

This is because Reinhard's AOS and report server are not on a single server, and the report server's BC does not point to the server where the AOS resides.

Reinhard into the AX Configuration utility and points BC to the server where the AOS resides.

When you're done, click the Apply button. Go back to the AX component installer, continue with the installation, enter the password for the BC account and go to the next step.

Select the local database instance, and remember to select the checkbox for the deployment report and click Next. Here we select the name of the database server for AX, and the database name. Here Reinhard received the following error:

Setup was unable to connect to the database server "Msdynax".

The Reinhard guess is that the BC account does not have access to the AX database. After checking, Reinhard found no problem with the permissions of the BC account.

So what's the problem? Reinhard suddenly thought that just to point BC to the AOS, did not point the local client to the AOS.

Reinhard re-run the AX Configuration tool, point the local client to the AOS, and apply the settings.

Next, Reinhard re-runs the AX Component Installation tool, which can get the database name to the AX data server this time.

Click Next to complete the prerequisites check.

Then click Next to start the installation.

Congratulations, Reinhard, you receive the following error during installation:

Click Done to open the error log.

View the installation log,

Reinhard thought that it might be that SSRS did not start, and after checking, it was found to be so.

Click the Start button, after the SSRS startup succeeds, rerun the AX component installer, perform the steps above, and Reinhard is lucky to receive the following error when prerequisites are verified:

1. Confirm that the supported versions of Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services are installed. For more information about which versions are supported, see system Requirements (Systems requirements) on http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=165377.

2. Open the browser and confirm that you can access the Reporting Services Web service URL Http://MSDynAX/ReportServer

Reinhard Open the SSRS Web service URL http://MSDynAX/ReportServer and found that it was not open at all.

Also, Reinhard found that SSRS system services were not started at all. Reinhard tries to restart the SSRS system service and does not start up. Reinhard found that the login account for this service is a BC account, could this be the reason? Reinhard the login account of the system service to the Network service, then it can be started successfully.

However, the SSRS Web service URL Http://MSDynAX/ReportServer still reported a 503 error, and Reinhard guessed that the SSRS service was not deployed properly. Add the BC to the local administrator account first, then re-deploy SSRS, open http://MSDynAX/Reports, and finally configure the Web service.

Re-check the prerequisites, this time finally passed, click Next, start the installation.

This time it's still quite smooth, waiting for the command line form to disappear.

Next, we go to the webpage and confirm that the Dynamicsax folder already exists.

Back in Microsoft Dynamics AX, verify the report server configuration.

In this way, the reporting Services extension for Dynamics AX R2 is installed and deployed.

Around so many detours, the following summary:

    1. Need to add a BC account to the report server native Administrators group
    2. Need to grant BC account permissions in AX database
    3. Need to grant BC account permissions on the reporting database
