Extended display identification data (edid) is the display format specification for PC displays developed by the VESA organization. Edid contains parameters related to the display and its performance, including supplier information, maximum image size, color settings, vendor pre-settings, frequency range restrictions, and strings of the display name and serial number. The information is stored in the eeprom of the monitor and communicated with the system through a DDC (display data channel. This is done between the monitor and the PC graphics adapter. Edid has been developed into many versions. The latest version of edid can also be used in CRT, LCD, and future display types, because edid provides a general description of almost all display parameters.
The edid of an HDMI device usually contains two modules: the first is the data module of edid1.3, and the second is the cea861b module. According to HDMI specifications, the first 128byte of edid must be a data structure that complies with edid1.3, and the second 128byte must be a ceaedid time series extended data structure that complies with IA/CEA-861B.
1. Data Structure of E-EDID
Is the detailed description of edid1.3 data structure and fields:

2. CEA-861B Data Structure
The following is a detailed description of the CEA-861B data structure and fields:

Edid is an important component of the HDMI interface. The sender and receiver of the HDMI interface negotiate the parameters transmitted by both parties through edid. For example, the sender of the HDMI interface reads the edid data of the receiver to determine the scanning method (1080 p, 480 I, or P) of the receiver's display) display Information, the range of signals that the monitor can receive, and whether the receiver of the monitor is an HDMI device.
HDMI is widely used in HD Image Transmission for its excellent performance. The method in which both sides transmit images depends on the edid data structure of the receiving end. Edid data determines the properties of devices displayed on the receiving end. The sender determines the monitor Attributes Based on the edid read by the receiving device and the method used to transmit images. If the edid settings are incorrect, the system may not recognize the HDMI device correctly and cannot transmit images in HD format. Therefore, edid settings are crucial. This article analyzes in detail the meaning of each field of edid, and correctly sets the edid to transmit high-definition images between HDMI devices.
