Introduction to IE Enterprise Model
Enterprise mode: compatible mode running on Windows 8.1 update and Windows 7 Internet Explorer 11. This allows websites to use a browser configuration modification method that imitates Internet Explorer 8, avoid common compatibility issues in Web applications written and tested on earlier versions of Internet Explorer.
Enterprise mode Internet Explorer ("emie") for Internet Explorer 11 Improves Internet Explorer 8 compatibility and provides management tools.
Customers will benefit from modern browsers while reducing upgrade costs and investment in maintaining existing web applications.
Enterprise Model features
The enterprise model provides the following functions:
- Improved compatibility between applications and websites. Through improved simulation, the enterprise mode allows many legacy applications to run directly on Internet Explorer 11 without modification. It supports some websites that are not currently supported under Internet Explorer 11 doc-modes.
- Tool-based website list management. Use the enterprise mode site list management tool to add the website domain name and domain name path, and specify whether the website is displayed in enterprise mode. You can download the enterprise mode Site List Manager tool from Internet Explorer Download center.
- Centralized Control. Using group policies to enable or disable Enterprise mode from the tool menu determines whether the enterprise's browser configuration file appears on the simulation Tab Of the F12 developer tool.
Important: all centralism decisions cover any local Selection
- Integrated browsing. The Enterprise mode is usually used to browse Web pages, and the mode is automatically changed.
- Collect data. Collect the local overwrite data of key users and release the data back to the specified server. Therefore, you can add the results to your centralized list and spread out your compatibility test.
