1. Execute the "tools → macros → record new macros" command to open the Record New Macro dialog box.

Note: Macros are saved in three locations: the current workbook--the macro is only valid for the current workbook; Personal Macro Workbook--macros are not valid for all workbooks; New Workbook--the recorded macro is saved in a new workbook and is valid for that workbook.
