 1. Preparation

1. Import QC through Excel, you need to download Microsoft Excel add-in:

2. Install Microsoft Excel add-in, you need to close the Excel application before installing and run as Administrator.

Note: If you have previously installed an earlier version of the plugin, it is best to uninstall it before installing it.

3, after the installation, open the Excel table (take Excel2007 as an example), click "Add-ons", appear in the bounds of the red box "Export to Quality Center".

Note: When importing Test into QC from Excel, you may need permission to write files under "X:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\office12\xlstart" (Office installation directory), or you will not be able to import them.

2. Data Import QC

The plug-in supports the requirements, test plans, defects related data from Excel Import QC, these 3 steps are basically the same, the following to import test plan data as an example.

1, the first requirement of the Excel document format to be consistent with the QC data field, sample format as shown in 2-1.

2, select the content that you want to import QC, (note: not including column header) Click the menu "add-ons->export to quality Center", as shown in 2-2.

3, enter the address of the QC, click "Next", as shown in 2-3.

4, enter the QC username and password, click "Next", as shown in 2-4.

5. Select the desired domain name and project, click "Next", as shown in 2-5.

6. Select the type you want to import (requirements, test cases, defects), select "Tests" Here, click "Next", as shown in 2-6.

7. Select an already set map (map rule), or add a map again, click "Next", as shown in 2-7.

8, the QC in the parameter name and EXECL table in the design of the column name to match the corresponding. The red parameter name in the figure is required, as shown in 2-8.

9. Select a field on the left and click the ">" button to enter the corresponding column name in Excel, as shown in 2-9.

Note: You need to first select the data that you want to import before you can import successfully .

10, 2-10, select all OK, click "Export".

11, 2-11, the requirements are successfully imported.

3. Summary

The import of requirements and defects and the import of the plan is basically the same, except that the Excel document structure is different, just note that all column data in Excel can find the corresponding field in QC, and must ensure the legitimacy of the data value, such as the field type in the QC inconsistent, will cause the import to fail.

Attention:

1, the "test name" in the QC plan does not support \/:% ' *?<>| ".

2, the "subject" in the QC plan refers to the folder path, so the Excel writing mode is: ***\***, such as: Credit Application \2011 version of the Personal report \ batch processing \ Bulk Query request.
