Excel worksheet Select cell Related How-to tips

1. Start Excel 2013 and open the document, click Select the cell in any cell in the datasheet and press the "ctrl+*" key to select all the current data regions, as shown in Figure 1.

2. Click a cell in the worksheet, such as cell A2, and then hold down the Shift key and click in another cell, such as cell E12, to select a contiguous range of cells from cell A2 to E12, as shown in Figure 2.

Attention

Position the mouse pointer over the starting cell, press and hold the left mouse button on the cell in the lower-right corner of the cell, or you can get a contiguous selection. Also, by holding down the Shift key, pressing the arrow keys on your keyboard or the home key, end, PageUp, and PageDown keys, you can make a quick selection of contiguous cell ranges.

3. Click the cell by holding down the CTRL key in the worksheet, and the clicked cell will be selected, as shown in Figure 3.

4. Clicking on a row or column label on a worksheet will enable you to select an entire row or column, for example, select column B in a worksheet, as shown in Figure 4.

Attention

You can select multiple noncontiguous rows or columns at the same time by holding down the CTRL key and clicking the row or column labels. When you select a row or column, hold down the Shift key and click another row or column label to select consecutive rows or columns.

5. Select a cell in the worksheet, such as C4 cell, and then press the "ctrl+shift+→" key, and all the data cells on the right side of the cell are selected, as shown in Figure 5, and by the "ctrl+shift+↓" key, The cell and all data cells below the column are selected, as shown in Figure 6.
