Microsoft Exchange 2016 server was officially released on October 1, 2015 in the United States time. The new version of the slogan is: Forged in the Cloud. Now available on-premises. Cast in the cloud, present in front of you.
The new product highlights the following features:
1. Better co-operation. such as large attachment transfers, whether in Outlook or OWA, we can easily use OneDrive or SharePoint as a medium for transferring large attachments. You will then slowly join third-party services such as Dropbox.
2. Better Outlook Web App interface. In order to adapt to the mobile era, Microsoft has made significant improvements to OWA to ensure that it can maintain superior performance on all types of devices.
3. A better search. Outlook 2016 clients can now be indexed using an Exchange 2016 server-side index, which is a boon for users of oversized mailboxes.
4. Improved scalability. Both OWA and Outlook tightly support third-party plug-ins (add-in), while plug-ins are more tightly integrated with native systems to give users a smooth feel for their use.
Other features include stronger ediscovery capabilities, simplified server-side architecture, more stable high availability, and later I'll write articles detailing technical details.
Based on the feedback from tap users, the new version has a significant increase in stability compared to previous versions, and you can think of it as Service Pack 2 for Exchange 2013, so you can confidently upgrade. In addition, there are some new features that are expected to be added slowly in subsequent CU patches, such as inserting images into OWA, indexing passive nodes, and so on.
