Part V: Support for Flash8 video

The enhancement of the video support function cannot but become a focus of our attention to FLASH8. Today we'll look at how to use Flash8 to easily make the playback effect of the video.

Start Flash8, and then execute the Import/Import Video menu command, and the "Select Video" dialog box pops up, as shown in Figure 1. In this dialog we can specify the path of the video file that needs to be played, and there are two options for us to choose from: One is to select the file on the local computer, click the Browse button to select the file, and the other is the file that exists on the network server and can enter the URL of the file

When you have set the location of the video file, click Next to continue and go to the Deployment dialog box, as shown in Figure 2. Here we can set up how to deploy the video, a total of four options for us to choose from: Progressive Download form a Web server (download from the network server), data flow from the Flash video streaming server, data flow in the way from the flash Communication Server transfers, embeds video in SWF and plays on the timeline. Here, we select the first one, and then click Next to continue.

In the Encoding dialog box, we can set up how to configure the video encoding, and the system presets seven encoding profiles to accommodate different playback requirements. Click the Show Advanced Settings button to open the advanced settings for the video file, as shown in Figure 3. In the encoding option, you can set up a video codec that has two On2 VP6 and Sorenson Spark. The frame frequency can be set to "same as the source", or some other preset frame-rate values can be selected. Key frame settings can be set automatically, or you can customize how many frames the interval between keyframes is. You can set the quality of the video to low, medium, high, and custom. You can adjust the size of the video to specify the video width and height. In addition, you can specify the encoder and data rate for the audio.

In the cue point option, we can set the cue point at a time and set its name and value to make it easier to control the playback of the video, as shown in Figure 4.

We can also control the size and trim of the video, as shown in Figure 5.

Click Next to enter the Appearance settings dialog, where we can select the shape of the viewer's appearance, as shown in Figure 6.

After you have set all the properties, go to the dialog that completes the video import, and then click Finish to start coding the video, as shown in Figure 7.

When the encoding is finally completed, a player is displayed on the stage, as shown in Figure 8.

Finally execute the "File/publish" command, publish the file, you can execute the Web page file open the player.
