Q: In NTFS format, when you select folder properties, there is a "security" option, I have the following permission to delete all the users, leaving only their own account, the results found that only open folders, the inside of everything is not open. It's over, I can't open all my information!
A: For XP, you can set user permissions only under NTFS-formatted folders or disks (entire partitions). If you want to set permissions for a folder, select the destination folder--properties--security. This is the time to see which users have permissions on the target folder. Generally speaking, you cannot delete a user simply by using the "Remove" button, because there is an inherited relationship here. You can click "Advanced" in
"Permissions" under the inheritance relationship removed, apply to go back to the previous level, add users and set permissions on it. But this situation only applies to the target folder is established by the current user, which I have tested.
However, some folders were created long ago (earlier than the current operating system) or created by other users (one machine may be used by many individuals), if you use the same method as above, the problem I have is that I can open the destination folder, but nothing in the folder can be read. For this folder, when we open "target folder--properties--security", we will see some names are very strange users have the right to operate the current folder, this time you can look at the "Advanced--owner", You will see that the current owner is a very strange user. If you want to make changes to the folder's user rights, you should first select the user under Change OWNER. And then follow the first situation to set the OK.
My folder was built a long, long time ago, so I also encountered difficulties. The above operation is my own practice verified as correct, but there is no theoretical basis, I am not sure to fully apply to other situations.
PS: My operating system is English version of XP, so the above using the current system of the corresponding function description, the use of Chinese version of XD can be the corresponding.
