After downloading the Serv-U for simple settings, I want to test whether the file upload and download functions of the software are OK.
After running cmd, enter the FTP Host IP Address
Will prompt: connected
Host IP Address
220 Serv-u ftp server v9.0 ready...
Then you will be asked to enter the username for logging on to the FTP server, and then I will enter: TT
The system will prompt: 331 user name okey, need password. Enter your password.
After successful input, the system displays: 230 user logged in, proceed
Now, you can upload and download files, but when I put E: \ txt.txt, an error occurs:
200 PORT command successful.
550/txt.txt: Permission denied.
This indicates that my TT user has insufficient permissions to upload and download files. You need to reset it. Double-click the TT user to access the directory. A directory access rule will pop up: the read-only file displayed in it. At this time, you hook up the write permission, the operation I just performed will be OK.
I just want to run the pressure, and upload and download will be OK. If you want higher permissions, you can hook up the permissions you need or directly access them completely, the following describes the meaning of several items in the file permission:
Read allows users to read (download) files. This permission does not allow users to list the contents of directories. to perform this operation, the list permission is required.
Write allows users to write (that is, upload) files. This permission does not allow users to modify existing files. to perform this operation, additional permissions are required.
Append allows you to append data to an existing file. This permission is usually used to allow users to resume the upload of some uploaded files.
Rename allows users to rename existing files. In earlier versions of Serv-U, you must have the delete and write permissions to rename the file. From version 7.0, rename it as a clear permission.
Delete: allows users to delete files.
Attackers can execute files remotely. Run the access command to remotely start the program and usually apply it to a specific file. This is a very powerful permission and requires extra caution when granting this permission to users. Users with write and execution permissions can choose to install any program on your system.
