First, install gnuplot (Linux server side)
1. Download gnuplot (version 4.4.0)
wget http://nchc.dl.sourceforge.net/project/gnuplot/gnuplot/4.4.0/gnuplot-4.4.0.tar.gz
2. Extract Files
TAR-ZXVF gnuplot-4.4.0.tar.gz
3. Configure the installation path
CD gnuplot-4.4.0
./configure--prefix=/public/software/gnuplot
4. Compile
Make
5. Installation
Make install
6. Configure environment variables, compile/etc/profile.d/gnuplot.sh content as follows:
Export Gnuplot=/public/software/gnuplot
Export Path=/public/software/gnuplot/bin: $PATH
Export Manpath=/public/software/gnuplot/share/man/man1: $MANPATH
7. Enabling the Environment
source/etc/profile.d/gnuplot.sh
Second, the simple use of gnuplot (Windows client)
1. Download putty (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html)
2. Download and install xming (http://sourceforge.net/projects/xming/)
3. Run xming
4. Run Putty, enter the host name, click the following figure to ssh-x11 under the "X11 map" hook, click to open Login remote host.
5. Run Xterm, and a new window will be opened on the desktop. The following figure:
6. Run gnuplot in the open xterm to use.
7. Generally, the terminal type should be specified after entering the gnuplot xterm
Set term xterm
8. Draw a sine chart try it!
