To do good deeds, you must first sharpen your tools.

There is only one Internet, and more than n search engines. Some search experts say that the so-called search is "using the correct tools and methods to find the right content in the right place ". However, for ordinary people, it is unlikely to Master many search engines. It is even more urgent to use one or two relatively powerful representative tools to achieve the vast majority of search targets. Different strong emerged in different periods. For now, we are very lucky to have Google.

The following 20 articles are summarized in my use. You can refer to them.

(1) An English space "" indicates the logical "and" operation.

"A B" indicates searching for webpages that contain a and B.

(2) minus "-" indicates the logical "Non" operation.

"A-B" indicates searching for webpages that contain a but do not have B. Note: The "-" Here is an English character, not a Chinese character "-". There must be no space between the operator and the keyword. For example, "Search Engine-culture" is regarded as the logic "and" Operation of the keyword "Search Engine" and "culture", and the "-" in the middle is ignored.

(3) an uppercase "or" indicates a logical "or" operation.

"A or B" indicates that either a, B, or A and B are included in the search webpage. Note: The "and" operation must use uppercase "or" instead of lowercase "or ".

(4) wildcard "*"

"*" Indicates any single character. The phrase containing "*" must be caused. For example, "" governing the country "means to search for the first four-character phrase" take "and the last two words" govern the country ". The" * "in the middle can be any character.

(5) case insensitive

Google is not case sensitive to English characters. The search results for "God" and "God" are the same.

(6) quotation marks for phrase search

Google keywords can be words (with no spaces in the middle) or phrases (with spaces in the middle ). However, if you use a phrase as a keyword, you must enclose it in quotation marks. Otherwise, spaces are treated as "and" operators. For example, "World War I" searches for English information about the First World War.

(7) Search Engine Word Segmentation

When we search for "www History", the search engine actually divides this phrase into three parts: "www", "of", and "history, this is the word segmentation of the search engine. Therefore, even if you enter a continuous "www History", the search engine uses this phrase as a separate search for three keywords.

(8) Ignore high-frequency English Words

Such as "I", "com", "www", and some symbols such as "*" and ". to forcibly search for ignored keywords, add the plaintext "+" before the keyword. For example, "+ www + historical Internet", another method of force search is to use double quotation marks. In the above example, "World War I", "I" is actually a ignore word, but because it is caused by double quotation marks, the search engine forces the search for this specific phrase. Note: most commonly used English symbols (such as question marks, periods, and commas) cannot be keywords, nor can they be enhanced.

(9) "site:" restricts the websites to be searched.

"Site:" indicates that the search results are limited to a specific website or website channel, such as "www.sina.com.cn", "edu.sina.com.cn", or a domain name, such as "com.cn" or "com. If you want to exclude a website or a page within the domain name range, you only need to use "-website/domain name ". For example, you need to search for the beautiful pictures page on the Chinese education and research website (edu.cn. You can search for "Beauty image site: edu.cn", for example, "Sex Life" Tips site: www.sina.com.cn or site: www.sohu.com "is to search for information about sex skills on www.sina.com.cn and www.sohu.com. Note: The colon after site is an English character and cannot contain spaces after the colon. Otherwise, "site:" is used as a search keyword. In addition, the website domain name cannot have the "http: //" prefix or any "/" directory suffix. The website channel is limited to the "channel name. domain Name, rather than domain name/channel name.

(10) "filetype:" searches for information in a certain type of files.

"Filetype:" searches some binary documents. Animated files (Flash Animation. The most practical document search is PDF search. For example, to search for office documents containing the words "naked women", you can enter "naked women filetype: Doc or filetype: XLS or filetype: ppt", as shown in the following figure: "Sex Life" tips or tutorial filetype: PDF ", search for PDF documents on search sex skills.

(11) "inurl:" The search keyword is included in the URL link.

The webpage link returned by "inurl:" contains the first keyword, and the following keyword appears in the link or webpage document. Many websites display a type of resource names with the same attributes in the directory name or webpage name, such as "MP3" and "gallary". Therefore, you can use the inurl syntax to find the relevant resource links, and then use the second keyword to determine whether a specific item is available. The biggest difference between inurl syntax and Basic Search syntax is that the former can usually provide very accurate topic information. For example, "inurl: Midi" ". Note:" inurl: "cannot be followed by spaces. Google does not search for URL symbols such. For example, Google treats "/" in "cgi-bin/phf" as a space.

(12) The link to the webpage returned by the "allinurl:" syntax contains all the key words

The keyword for this query is only the link string of the webpage. For example, find a company website that may have phf security vulnerabilities. The CGI-BIN directories of these websites usually contain the phf script program (which is insecure), represented in the Link "Domain Name/cgi-bin/phf ". Search:
"Allinurl:" cgi-bin "phf + COM"

(13) "intitle:" The search keyword is included in the webpage title

The usage of "intitle" and "allintitle" is similar to the preceding inurl and allinurl, but the latter queries the URL, while the former queries the title bar of the webpage. Query only the title bar. You can also find a topic page with a high correlation rate. For example, you can find a collection of photos of fujihara, "intitle: fujihara Ji Xiang" Photo Album ""

(14) "inanchor:" The search keyword is contained in the "anchor" link of the webpage.

The so-called "anchor" means to quickly switch the link points on the same web page. Similar to URLs and titles, Google provides two search methods for Anchor: "inanchor" and "allincnchor ". This is not described in detail.

(15) "link:" searches for all webpages linked to a specific URL.

If you have a website, you may want to know how many people have linked your website. The "Link" syntax allows you to quickly achieve this goal. For example, "link: www.palacemoon.com" is used to search for webpages that contain links to www.palacemoon.com.

(16) "related:" searches for pages with similar structure content

"Related" is used to search webpages with similar structure content. For example, search for all pages similar to the Chinese Sina homepage, "related: www.sina.com.cn/index.shtml"

(17) "cache:" query information from the Google server cache page

"Cache:" is used to search for the cache of a page on a Google server. It is usually used to search for some dead-link webpages that have been deleted. It is equivalent to using the "webpage snapshot" function on the general search result page. Other commonly used syntaxes such as info and stock are not described one by one. If you are interested, refer to Google.

(18) Google Image Search

Currently, the supported syntaxes include basic search syntaxes such as "", "-", "or", "Site", and "filetype :". The suffix of "filetype:" can only be similar to several limited images, such as JPG and GIF. For example, find the image of bin Laden on Sina, "bin Laden or bin Laden site: sina.com.cn"

(19) Directory Search

If you don't want to search for a wide range of web pages, but want to find some special site, you can visit Google's classification directory http://directory.Google.com
Http://directory.Google.com/Top/World/Chinese_Simplified

(20) News Group Search

News groups have detailed categories of topics, some of which are managed and edited by special personnel, with a large amount of valuable information. Go to Google newsgroup "http://groups.Google.com" and you have two ways to find information. One is to click on a specific topic discussion group layer by layer, and the other is to search directly.
