According to foreign media reports, Hitwise, the website for traffic and market share analysis, published the latest survey on Wednesday. In March, Google's Internet search market share in the United States has increased to 64%.
According to Hitwise's survey of 10 million Internet users in the United States, Google's market share rose from February in 63.9% to 64.1%, compared with 58.3% in the same period last year.
Yahoo's Internet search market share in the U.S. fell from March in February to 21.5% in 21.3%, and Yahoo's share in last March in 22.3%. Microsoft MSN's market share in March fell from February in 9.3% to 9.2%, compared with 13.1% in the same period last year.
According to Hitwise, Google increased its search performance in some special categories in March. For example, the traffic of health-related websites accounts for 28%, and the traffic of travel-related websites accounts for 19%.
In the Nasdaq stock market, Google's shares barely changed, at about $466.71 per share, Yahoo's shares fell by 1.6% to $31.17 per share. The two companies will announce their quarterly earnings next week.
