(1) Supported server platforms. For a list of supported platforms, see the VMware Compatibility Guide at: http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility.
(2) ESXi 6.0 requires a host with at least two CPU cores.
(3) ESXi 6.0 supports 64-bit x86 processors released after September 2006. This includes a variety of multicore processors. For a complete list of supported processors, see the VMware Compatibility Guide at: http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility.
(4) ESXi 6.0 requires the NX/XD bit to be enabled in the BIOS for the CPU.
(5) ESXi requires at least 4GB of physical RAM. It is recommended that you provide at least 8 GB of RAM so that you can run virtual machines in a typical production environment.
(6) To support a 64-bit virtual machine, the x64 CPU must be capable of supporting hardware virtualization (Intel vt-x or AMD RVI).
(7) One or more gigabit or faster Ethernet controllers. For a list of supported network adapter models, see the VMware Compatibility Guide at http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility.
(8) SCSI disks or local (non-network) RAID LUNs that contain unpartitioned space for virtual machines.
(9) for serial ATA (SATA), there is a disk that is connected by a supported SAS controller or a supported onboard SATA controller. The SATA disk will be considered a remote, non-local disk. By default, these disks are used as staging partitions because they are treated as remote disks.
PS: The SATA CD-ROM device cannot be connected to a virtual machine on an ESXi 6.0 host. To use a SATA CD-ROM device, you must use IDE emulation mode.
