Hyper-V Virtual machine networking settings

The built-in Hyper-V Manager in Windows 8 can be a surprise to many people! While Hyper-V Manager is powerful, it also faces some unavoidable problems with setup. Some people say, Hyper-V virtual machine networking trouble, in fact, as long as mastered the skills, but also a lift.

Any computer that is not connected to the network can say that it has lost most of its functionality, particularly Windows 8, as well as virtual machines.

Hyper-V does not recognize the physical machine's NIC, so it is necessary to use the virtual network card to realize the network link through the physical computer.

When you turn off the Hyper-V virtual machine, select Virtual Switch Manager in the Hyper-V management interface.

In the pop-up dialog box, "Create a new virtual network switch," select "Internal" and click on "Creating a virtual Switch."

After naming the virtual switch, click "Apply". After a short wait, you can see the newly added virtual switch on the left.

At this point, you can see the following unrecognized links in Control Panel-network and internet-Network and Sharing Center:

You can also see the following devices under Change adapter settings:

This is the virtual switch that you just created.

Although you have a virtual device, the virtual machine still does not link properly.

Click the existing Internet link below the network and Sharing Center:

In the pop-up dialog box, select Properties:

Switch to the Sharing tab, check "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection" and select the virtual Switch--vethernet (Hyper-V switch) that you just created in the "Home network Connection" below and click OK.

At this point, you will find information about 192.168.137.1 in the IPV4 routing table after you enter "route print" in the command prompt running in Administrator mode (right-click in the lower left corner of the screen, select Command Prompt administrator):

Next, go to the Hyper-V Virtual machine Setup interface, under hardware, in network adapters, set the virtual switch to the just-set Hyper-V switch Virtual Switch, and click OK.

At this point, restart the Hyper-V virtual machine and set it to "Automatically obtain IP address" and "Automatically obtain DNS server" in the TCP/IP protocol under the corresponding network connection, to make network connections.

If you use manual settings, the IP address is set to "192.167.137.X", X is 2~255 any number, the subnet mask is "255.255.255.0", the default gateway is "192.168.137.1", and the DNS server is set to "192.168.137.1". Note that the gateway and DNS server here are default for Microsoft and do not need to be changed.

When you are sure, you will find that the virtual machine is already connected to the network!

If you replace the network connection of the physical machine after that, you need to reset the share and share the same way.

In addition, if you find that the link in the virtual machine changes to "Unrecognized network connection" and has a yellow exclamation mark on the Network icon, you can see from the command prompt if the routing table is normal, and if you do not include 192.168.137.1 content (as shown below), the network share is not normal, You can disable the network share first and then reopen it as you have previously described.

In addition to using a shared internal network connection, you can also use an external network connection, but if the physical machine contains only one NIC device, the physical machine network connection will be disconnected. (A network card at the same time only support a Web connection, virtual machine is equivalent to a computer, it can not be used both.) )
