IBM issued a guideline in Publication No. 204-126 (June 2004): "IBM plans ... In the first half of 2005 ... Release the new WMQ. These publications will make it easier for the ESB to create and expand ... Improve applicability file transfer simple, browse fast new cross-platform configuration tools improve manageability understand the services that the system is running, and affect it more easily identify problems and avoid problems enhance availability leverage Z/OS services to expand Performance, capacity, and scalability leverage 64-bit address space This demo shows how IBM can achieve this Requirements of the statement As we plan to launch a new version of WMQ, we try to divide the work into several topics. These are the features that are prioritized for this release, and a feature should be grouped into one or more topics prior to implementation. (Remember that there are too many candidates, always more than the number of features we can develop in acceptable time or with accepted code.) A feature that cannot be integrated with a version may be integrated into the next version. ) The two areas we want to study this time are: Make WMQ new users easy to choose and use quickly even if you have experience with earlier versions, it is easier to manage WMQ. We've been doing some z/OS specific activities to complete the development of the final phase of Shared Queue work At the same time, many enhancements reflect a broader range of industry activities. Many of these items are described in detail in the following slides |
