1. What needs to be done before reinstalling the system:

 

1. The hard disk needs to be formatted for system installation. To avoid the loss of important data, please Back up important data on the hard disk.The data to be backed up includes:

 


  • Personal documents and emails

  • Important pictures, music or video materials

  • IE Favorites

  • Various data and reports generated by office software

  • Program installation files (only important program installation files on hard disks are backed up without a CD)

 

2. Unplug all external devices (such as USB flash drives, mobile hard drives, scanners, and printers) connected to your computer before installing the system. If there is a network connection, unplug the network cable and install the system. After the system is installed, add these devices one by one and install the corresponding drivers.

 

3. If there is no driver CD for VISTA, download drivers for all devices (including other devices installed) before installing the system ). After installing the system, you can quickly install drivers for each device to ensure the normal operation of the device. 4. Before installing the system, prepare the following information and ensure that the information can be used properly:

 


  • Lenovo VISTA system restoration disc

  • Lenovo random program installation disc

  • Other software installation discs and corresponding authorization serial numbers (passwords)

 

 

 

II. Statement:

 

1. This article only describes how to use the system recovery disc to install the system on a computer with a Windows VISTA system disc, it does not mean that your computer will have a Windows VISTA restoration disc or a Windows VISTA system preinstalled. The specific hardware and software configurations of the machine are subject to the packing list.

 

2. The following installation process is based on the Lenovo oem vista system restoration disc (Home Premium with SP1 patch ), it may be different from the CD in your hand. For details, refer to the installation instructions.

 

 

 

 

III. Installation steps:

 

1. Open your computer and click "F12" when the "Lenovo" interface appears (as shown in the figure below;

 

 

2. When the boot menu shown in the following figure is displayed, place the prepared operating system recovery disc to the optical drive, and use the up/down arrow key to move the black selection box to select the option containing "CD/DVD, then press Enter;

 

 

3. If "Press any key to boot from CD…" is displayed, as shown in the following figure ..." Interface, quickly press any button on the keyboard (for example, space key, Enter) key );

 

 

4. If the interface shown in the following figure is displayed, press Enter to continue;

 

 

5. When the boot guide interface shown in the following figure appears, please be patient;

 

 

 

6. When the language and other preference settings page appears (as shown in the following figure ), you can set "language to be installed", "Time and currency format", and "keyboard and input method" based on your usage. Generally, you can use the default settings and click "next;

 

 

7. Select the operating system to be installed (as shown in the following figure). Because there is only one operating system, click "next" to continue;

 

 

8. On the license agreement page, select "I accept license terms" in the red box and click "next" to continue;

 

 

9. The system installation partition page is displayed, as shown in the following figure. Lenovo computer usually has two hard disk partitions (drive C and drive D ), We strongly recommend that you only format disk C (disk 0 partition 1) to reinstall the system.. If you want to repartition the hard disk or partition the new hard disk, refer 4. Use the VISTA system recovery disc to partition the hard disk (re-partition ); Note:Re-partitioning the hard disk will affect the one-click recovery function, resulting in failure to restore to the computer's factory status. Please use this operation with caution.

 

 

10. As shown in the preceding figure, click "drive options (advanced)" in the red box, switch to the interface shown in the following figure, and select "disk 0 partition 1" with the mouse ", click the "format" button below;

 

Note: Partitioning and formatting the hard disk will result in the loss of data stored on the hard disk. Make sure that all useful data has been backed up to other places.

 

 

11. The following data loss warning dialog box is displayed. Click "OK" to continue;

 

 

12. The figure below shows the status after formatting the over-area. Click "next" to continue the system installation;

 

 

13. The installer starts to copy files and installer programs to the selected partition. There will be several restart processes in the middle, and no operation is required. Please wait patiently for 10-20 minutes;

 

 

14. When the interface shown in the following figure appears, you can enter a user name (both Chinese and English) as the system administrator account (enter lenovo as an example here ), you can also select your favorite image as the account image. After entering the selection, click "next" to continue;

 

 

15. Enter a computer name on this interface, or use the default one. You can also select a desktop background that you like. Click "next" after the selection is complete;

 

 

16. On the page shown in the following figure, adjust the correct time zone, date, and time, and then click "next ";

 

 

17. All the settings have been completed. Click the Start button to complete the final debugging and optimization;

 

 

 

18. At this point, the system installation is complete, and the driver and software of the device need to be installed later.

 

 

 

4. Use the VISTA system recovery disc to partition the hard disk (Repartition)

 

Reminder: Partitioning and formatting the hard disk will result in the loss of data stored on the hard disk. Make sure that all useful data has been backed up to other places.

 

1. Click the "drive options (advanced)" button in the red box on the interface shown in the figure below;

 

 

2. Switch to the interface shown in the following figure, and select the partition to be deleted with the mouse, such as "disk 0 partition 1", and click the "delete" button below; if you need to partition a new hard disk, skip to step 2;

 

 

3. As shown in the following figure, the pop-up dialog box for data loss is displayed, further emphasizing the consequences of this delete operation. If you confirm that the data has been backed up or that no data needs to be backed up, click "OK" to continue partitioning and deletion;

 

 

4. The following figure shows the status of a deleted partition. Some disks change to unallocated space (as shown in the red box );

 

 

5. If you need to delete other partitions, repeat the steps 2-4 above. The following figure shows the status after all partitions are deleted and the initial status after a new hard disk is changed;

 

 

6. Start to create a new partition. Click "new" at the bottom to display the "size" input box (as shown in the red box below ). Enter the size of the new partition (for example, 40 GB, or 40000). After entering the value, click "Apply;

 

 

7. The figure below shows the status after a 40 GB partition is created (that is, disk 0 partition 1). Repeat Step 6 until the hard disk space is partitioned according to your plan;

 

 

8. The following figure shows the interface after the hard disk partition is created. (two partitions are divided, 40 GB and 194 GB, respectively ).
