- In Mapping Designer, select Convert-Create. Select the Lookup transformation. Enter a conversion name. The naming convention for lookup conversions is lkp_transformationname. Click OK.
- In the Select Lookup Table dialog box, you can choose from the following options:
- Select an existing table or file definition.
- Select Import definitions from a relational table or file.
- Skip to create a manual definition.
- Define the input port for each lookup condition that needs to be defined.
- For a non-connected lookup transformation, create a return port for the value that you want to return from the lookup.
- Define the output port for values that need to be passed to other conversions.
- For lookup transformations that use the dynamic lookup cache, associate an input port or sequence ID for each lookup port.
- Add a Find condition. If you include more than one condition, put the conditions that use the equals sign in front to optimize the lookup performance.
- In the Properties tab, set the properties for the Lookup transformation, and then click OK.
- For non-connected lookup transformations, use in other transformations: LKP write an expression to invoke the non-connected lookup transformation.
