I installed it once a few days ago. I 've been playing around for a few days and the playing system is messy. Now I can reload it to record some important setup processes.
1. Install virtualbox. This is very simple.VMware is easy to use.
2. Install fedora, which is also very simple. However, we recommend that you back up the database after installation. The saved settings are broken and cannot be recovered.
2.5 build external kernel modules (some people do not need to execute this step and do not know what to do. However, if you fail to install the enhancement function, the following method can be used)
If this feature is not installed properly, the subsequent enhancements cannot be fully installed.
(Look at this http://www.thelinuxdaily.com/2010/05/how-to-install-virtualbox-3-2-on-fedora-13)
Execute 'yum update; YUM install-y virtualbox dkms GCC '// I can execute this statement first, but I don't know if it works in other versions.
Run '/etc/init. d/vboxdrv setup'
3. Install virtualbox's Enhanced Functions
Before performing this step, follow the GCC component
We strongly recommend that you read the help documentation of virtualbox, or the methods you can find on the Internet are incorrect.
Yum install gcc
Yum install gcc-C ++
Yum install kernel-devel (if this execution does not work, there will be a prompt to install what package, such as Yum install kernel-devel-2.6.35.6-45.fc14.i686)
Switch to the relevant directory for executionSh./VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run.
4. Set Shared Folders
Implementing File Sharing Between XP and Fedora involves a lot of problems that I haven't done for a long time. This problem remains to be solved.
We recommend that you view the help documentation 4.3 shared folder.
Use Mount-T vboxsf [-O options] sharename mountpoint
For example,
1. I have created a new folder/mnt/folder in Linux, and the corresponding folder on XP is D: \ share.
2. (1) Use the command line to operate vboxmanage sharedfolder Add "VM name" -- name"Share"-- Hostpath"D: \ share"
(2) move the mouse. When the Linux client is running, click Settings> allocate data space> add data space on the right to find the location of the data space, that is, the above D :\SharenameTo name the data space.Share
Select a fixed allocation.
3. Mount-T vboxsfShare/Mnt/folder
Note thatShare andRevoke folderIt cannot be the same name. Otherwise, it may be a problem. It is better to have a different name than D: \ sharename.
For more information, see section 3.11. shared folders and 4.2. installing and maintaining guest additions and 2.3. Installing on Linux Hosts in the Help file.
If you do not want to manually mount each time, you can add
# Vim/etc/fstab
Gongxiang/mnt/shared vboxsf RW, gid = 100, uid = 1000, auto 0 0
"Gongxiang" is the name of the previously created shared folder, so that it can be automatically mounted.
Note:
The name of the shared folder must not be the same as that of the mount point. For example, the mount point above is/mnt/shared, if the name of the shared folder is also shared, the following error message will appear when mounting (see http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/2265
The location of "defaults" is set. The specific parameters can be found in "sudo mount. vboxsf. For example, after the directory is loaded, all the files are 777. If you look dizzy, you can replace "defaults" with "fmode = 666", but you cannot + X. No way, windows File System defects.
5. Adjust screen resolution
After virtualbox is installed, the default screen size is 800*600. In this way, full screen looks uncomfortable.
Open/etc/X11/Xorg. confFile.
Section "screen"
Identifier "screen0"
Device "videocard0"
Monitor "monitor0"
Defaultdepth 24
Subsection "display"
Viewport 0 0
Depth 24
Modes "1366x768" "1024x768" "800x600" "600x480"
Endsubsection
Endsection
Add the desired resolution in modes, and then restart.
