[Switch] VC version With InstallShield
The development environment of the VC version of Installshield is the same as that of InstallShield professional 5.1. Since the Installshield is specially customized for Microsoft Visual C ++ 6, it is more convenient to run InstallShield directly from the visual C ++ 6 development environment.
After you debug the application with Visual C ++ 6 and compile it into a release EXE file, you can select the "InstallShield wizard" command in the "Tools" menu, execute the following procedure (taking Visual C ++ single-document application mysdi as an example):
(1) first, the "welcome" dialog box shown in 1 appears. You are required to select an Application Project (with the. DSW extension) for Visual C ++ 6.0 ). Click [browse...] to search for the disk.
(2) Click [next]. The "application information" dialog box shown in 2 appears, users are required to enter the application name, company name, application type, version number, and executable file of the application. Click the Browse button (with the "..." symbol) to call the executable file names of existing applications in the disk.
(3) Click [next]. The "summary" dialog box shown in 3 is displayed, showing the file and file group information in the installation project.
(4) Click the [finish] button to create the installation project mysdi and automatically start InstallShield for Microsoft Visual C ++ 6.
(5) use the InstallShield development environment to perform deeper installation project operations.
It must be noted that after InstallShield for Microsoft Visual C ++ 6 is correctly installed, it will be automatically installed in Visual C ++ 6.0 (must be installed first) add a menu command named "InstallShield wizard" under the "tool" menu, which is used to create an installation project for a visual C ++ 6.0 application.If visual C ++ 6.0 is not installed before Installshield is installed, after intallshield is installed, perform the following settings to use InstallShield in the "tool" menu of Visual C ++ 6.0

(1) After visual c ++ 6.0 is correctly installed, start visual c ++ 6.0 and select the "Tools" menu> "customize" command.
(2) In the displayed "customize" dialog box, switch to the "Tools" page, as shown in figure 4.
(3) scroll the menu list item to the last blank line, double-click the mouse, type "& InstallShield wizard", and press Enter.
(4) Select the menu items you just typed, and click the Browse button (with the "..." symbol to transfer isvcwiz.exe under the programfile folder of installshield.pdf.
(5) Set "Initial directory" to the path where isvcwiz.exe is located.
