The International Human Proteome Program (HPP) is another large-scale international scientific and technological project following the international Human Genome Project. The first action plans included the human liver Proteome program, led by Chinese scientists, and the human Plasma Proteome program, led by American scientists. The human Liver Proteome program is headquartered in Beijing, China's capital, the first time Chinese scientists have led the implementation of major international scientific and technological collaboration programs.Chinese nameInternational Human Proteome ProgramForeign namesHPPPropertiesInternational Science and Technology engineeringfeaturesFirst lead in the implementation of the International Science and Technology planCompletion TimeApril 2003Time Consuming13 Catalogue

1 Start
The "International Human Genome Project", which lasted for 13 years, was formally completed in April 2003. But mapping out the genome sequence alone is not the ultimate goal of the program, it is necessary to conduct a systematic and in-depth study of its coding products ——— proteome in order to truly achieve genetic diagnosis and gene therapy. Human Proteome research has become an important subject for biotechnology development following the human Genome Project. As early as 1998, Chinese scientists began the study of the liver Proteome, and at the first International Proteome Symposium in 2002, advocated and proposed the human liver proteome plan. December 15, 2003, the "Human Liver Protein program", led by young scientist integration, is one of the two major international cooperative initiatives currently launched by the International Human Proteome Organization, and has been enrolled by more than 80 laboratories in 16 countries and regions. Due to China's strong ability in protein research, it became the lead country for the human Liver Proteome Program (HLPP), and integration, director of the National Center for Biomedical Analysis, was elected executive chairman. This is the first major international cooperation program led by our country and the first human tissue/organ protein Group plan.2 Progress
For the first time, the human liver Proteome program, a major international research cooperation project led by our scientists, has been announced to make progress in the new stage. Over the past 3 years, our scientists have successfully determined 6,788 high-confidence Chinese adult liver proteins, and systematically constructed the first human organ proteome "Blueprint" in the world, focusing on nine scientific tasks, such as the expression profile, the modified spectrum and the linkage map of the human liver proteome. Found more than 1000 " A network diagram of protein-protein interaction, and established more than 2000 protein antibodies.3 Items

4 Foreground
Liver disease is an enemy of humanity that has almost ravaged the earth. At present, the world continues to increase the annual rate of about 50 million people with hepatitis disease. Our country, like most Asian countries, is a country with many liver diseases, with more than 100 million people suffering from liver disease, one of the countries with many liver diseases, hundreds of thousands of people die of liver disease each year, and the proportion of hepatitis B virus carriers is very high. The country spends more than 100 billion yuan on the cost of prevention and control in one year, the amount is huge. The implementation of human liver proteome plan will greatly improve the level of treatment and prevention of liver disease, reduce medical costs, at the same time, will make our country in the hepatitis, liver cancer as the representative of the major sense of disease diagnosis, control and new drug development in the field of breakthrough progress, and continuously improve our biomedical industry innovation capacity and international competitiveness. The human liver Proteome program, led by our scientists, is the first human tissue/organ proteome program in the Life sciences field, with more than 80 laboratories currently enrolled in 16 countries and regions. The scientific objective is to reveal and confirm the protein of the liver, to annotate and validate the coding genes predicted by the human Genome Project at the level of protein, to realize the docking and integration of the liver transcriptome, the liver proteome, the plasma proteome and the human genome, to reveal the whole and regulation of the human transcription and translation levels, to establish the liver "Physiology Group" and "pathology Group" provide important scientific basis for the breakthrough of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and new drug research and development of major liver diseases. The aim is to discover early warning molecules, diagnostic markers, drug targets, target targets and innovative drugs for liver disease, providing a strong scientific impetus for improving the level of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases.5 Events
